And when I say living expenses im talking mortgage, property taxes, and utilities. I just cant bring myself to spend over 30%. I know people who spend 50%. I always leave room for savings or for unexpected expenses. If im bringing home say 7500$ monthly im not spending more than 22-2300 on it. There's no way in hell im going to be housebroke or be a 2 month layoff away from being in deep ****.

Not to mention the increase in fuel costs.

Does anyone know how these work? I have AT&T internet and it sounds like all I have to do is sign up for a wi-fi extender so the apartment in the garage has better service and no new equipment is needed. Is that true? Or do I need a piece of equipment to extend my wi-fi? I'd rather it be a one-time purchase rather than something I have to keep paying for monthly.

I know this topic gets discussed every year, but would like to adjust the question a bit. I know it has been said that we should fertilize our yards at the end of April/early May for the initial time. Should this be adjusted since we are trending towards warmer temperatures earlier than normal?

This past weekend, my workplace had a major IT upgrade event. Started Friday night and went all the way through Sunday. 30 of us worked until midnight-ish every night, and then got going again at 8AM. I wasn't part of the actual upgrade tasks, more on the organization and coordination side of things. There was a lot of waiting around. We had a bridge call going, and as we whiled away the hours, we were doing things to entertain ourselves. We settled on a game called "What Movie Title best describes (insert random subject)?" So like: What movie title best describes your last relationship? What movie title best describes your first day of college? That kind of thing. And then everyone types their answer in the meeting chat, we all laugh and do it again. My favorite, by the way, was "What Movie title best describes your last trip to the bathroom?

- Big
- Black Snake Moan

Just a bit of light-hearted fun, during an event that wasn't much fun at all.

Anyway, does anyone else have any go-to activities for passing the time at work?

With rosters shaping up in the WNBA, how are Cyclones doing? It looks like Ashley Joens is on the Atlanta Roster, Bredget Carleton is fairly entrenched with Minnesota, and Julie VanLoo is on the Golden State roster. I am not aware that Soares is on any roster at the current moment. Anyone know any different? Did I miss any?

Since it is the offseason, I wanted to do a poll to see who posts at CF. I feel like it is mostly men under the age of 45, but I wanted to test that hypothesis.

Bridget Carleton is still thriving in Minnesota.

Stephanie Soares was cut by the Wings on January 4th. I'm guessing she'll show up in someone's training camp.

Ashley Joens was signed to a training camp contract by Atlanta.

Iowa State was recently picked to finish last in the Big 12 by a group of writers at ESPN. On today’s show, Chris Williams & Brent Blum analyze how much these preseason projections actually matter in 2026. The guys go team-by-team and give early thoughts on the Big 12, all courtesy of Mechdyne.

Earnings are out and we are near the bottom again. Once full shares for new members are given we will likely be at the bottom with KSU. Also of note is we had zero growth year over year. What do we need to do to keep up, and what are places like Cincinnati doing?

So, took the girlfriend and her son skating today and on the way home we see some lady crouched down. The closer we get we realize this woman is taking a damn **** on the side of the road!

Its kind of sad, but the homeless population in Des Moines seems to be getting over populated.
