I still haven't watched him play, hopefully Friday. Looking at recent tournaments, it seems like he's gaining some traction on tour, even on hard court. At a glance, I think Rublev is the only household name he's beaten, but I suppose he might not have to beat another to win this tournament
He could win this whole thing. Nice thing about 2 big guns being out is legimatley everyone left has a shot. Even when gets to Semis with sinner and alcaraz you know 1 of those 2 is winning it. I got the odds pie chart like this

Zverev: 50%
Cobolli: 25%
Mensik: 20%
Arnaldi: 5%

What I want is anybody but Zverev and A couple classics

In today's edition of College Sports is trying to take away every bit of joy it can...

There is a proposal that is going to be voted on this week to change the format of Arch Madness to this asinine thing:

Thursday:
4 v 9
5 v 8
3 v 10
6 v 7

Friday:
4/9 v 5/8
3/10 v 6/7

Saturday:
1 v 4/9/5/8
2 v 3/10/6/7

Sunday:
Championship

You have a beloved, traditional, well viewed and attended conference tournament and you want to screw with it. Just asinine.

I suppose the intent is to "protect" 1 & 2 as much as possible, but I don't know if it's that much better at doing so than the traditional format, and hard to know if it'll matter if MVC does have seasons when there's legit at-large contention.

It could be worse, though, for the "sprawl" factor. It could be Sun Belt!

Believe it or not I didn't have Arnaldi vs Cobolli semi final on my card. Today was first time seeing Cobolli very solid all around player. I think he'll be in Quarters-semis quite a bit. Though with Tennis you never know. He reminds me a bit of Lucas Pouille who beat Nadal in classic US Open match and was in top 10 for year or 2 then faded away quickly after

Even though you said expansion that part went over my head. I haven't studied much on how brackets will be constructed now. Is a 14 seed a game vs other AQ's then a game vs 3 seed?
14 would go right into the bracket and play a 3.

Just another way to squeeze the MM+ level and make sure they don't get any extra units. They know that low majors and traditional mids are never going to be a threat so they can 'afford' the play in units. They don't want to give that extra to the Valley, CUSA, WCC, A10 and new MW.
