good to see @VeloClone and @cstrunk are going to look out for me so I don't have to lookout for myself.
You can look out for yourself all you want. I was disagreeing because you said "you" and I don't believe that that is the best course for everyone including me. If people don't see any value in looking out for others than it must be a dismal existence they lead.

You can look out for others and I do, but ultimately you have to lookout for yourself.

Loyalty is a really loose word here. Think about when Park left, Zeb was second on the depth chart. He gets skipped over. When Kyle went down Zeb was used but ultimately went to second seat. The line play was awful for Noland. I know there is a lot to be debated on this point but Zeb's loyalty got him passed over multiple times instead of being allowed to work through the challenges and improve. You want this young man to be "loyal" and guess what he has been nothing but loyal. What really sucks here is the folks that are calling him a quitter etc. are probably the same people that were ******** about his play. That is NOT loyalty.

Loyal sons forever true. Guess that needs to come off the helmets.

Always thought forever was longer than two years. But, culture is all about doing the expedient. Zeb's no different than most.
Signed Fred hoiberg, Marcus fizer, Troy Davis, dan gable, Sanderson, et al.

Are Paul Rhoads, Dan McCarney, Larry E. considered loyal or no?

How did that guy get an oc job holy moly

I don't think Mess would be a good answer but his hands were tied here. As far as I can tell there's a cardinal sin to being a head coach. It's being involved, in any measurable capacity, in the side of the ball that you're not experienced in. It killed Rhoads and numerous other coaches. Know what you don't know.

Troy Davis? I don’t get that one. As for continuing this discussion, we’re going to have to agree to disagree because I don’t see either of us changing our opinion. Or Zeb changing his decision.

he left after his junior year. Far but my point there isn’t loyalty from the university. It goes both ways.

I pretty much agree with you. I was very disappointed in his decision to leave now. Upon reflection, from his perspective, I suspect he wants to transfer at semester and play spring ball at his new home. Probably means he needs to be focused on finding that place. Maybe it’s best he moves on. I have no ill will, hope he does well. As a 49 year cyclone game attender, I have seen us play entire seasons with worse QB’s than Zeb. He is pretty good, IMO. I think he will do well.
Never thought of it, but I have been a fan for 54 years, and counting. After graduation and moving outta state, can't say I went to many games, though.

Yeah, the season is over on the 24th or the 1st. I don't know of a second semester starting even close to that time so that reasoning doesn't hold a lot of water, especially when in a week he will have a good idea of where he's going.

I don't think it's all that unreasonable to wonder why he'd leave right now. He isn't getting a RS, he's not joining another program for 2+ months. I know you'd like to think there's deep research going on around his next choice that take months to sift through but that's not true either. It's great he was supportive while he was on the sidelines. I don't care that he's transferring and I don't really care that it's right now. It just makes zero sense to pass on celebrating a conference championship if he cares so much about the program and his teammates.

Maybe he needs time to focus on grades?

Somebody mentioned this and it wasn’t really talked about, but could he have chosen to leave now because he was wanting to get in on spring practices with someone? If I understand the rules, no other team could talk with him while he was still on the team otherwise it would be tampering, so if he wanted to find a school and team to join for next semester, he would have to have left now to have any chance of doing that.

Do people actually think those rules are followed?

KU always follows the rules.... Just ask Random.
