Your guide to Saturday Chicago fun

A couple other suggestions, a bit further north but well worth it:

Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder, 2121 N. Clark Street. AWESOME Chicago pizza, plus it's right across the street from where the St. Valentine's Day Massacre occurred.

For breakfast, try Yolk on 501 West Diversey Street - best breakfast in the city, hands down.

And for a great old-fashioned pub experience, Miller's Pub on Wabash in the Loop. Hopefully Michael is still tending bar there, he's the best bartender I ever met.

Have fun and go Clones!!!!!

is this where the hookers are blow are located? Figured that's what this thread was about.
Based upon the neighborhood, I'm thinking the best place to get hookers and blow is right outside of United Center. They should be hanging out by the RV with the Iowa plates.

Other food/bar recs beyond pizza (not that there's anything wrong with pizza)

Wasabi: Just off the blue line, has our favorite ramen in the city.
Small Chevaul: Au Cheval's place that does just burgers
Little Goat: Off-shoot from the Girl and Goat. Has breakfast all day and really tasty food.

Velvet Hour: Wonderful bar with great cocktails
Double A: Speakeasy downstairs from Mercadito. Has great cocktails, most of which feature tequila or mezcal

Take in the Underground Wonder Bar in River North for a fun place to listen to live music. Is used to be a bit of a dive (and hopefully still is) but it was a blast.

I also love Ed Debevic's at 640 N. Wells Street downtown. Old diner where the staff is rude on purpose. Best butterscotch malt I've ever had.

The family and I were in Chicago last week. We took the Signature Lake and River Tour. We were the last tour of the day (5:45). It was awesome. The tour took us out on the lake looking back on Chicago at sunset and then we took the Architecture tour down the river. The views were great and the guide was excellent.

It's not near United Center but I highly recommend going to the Wiener Circle in Lincoln Park late at night just for the entertainment value.

It is best to take your friends that are drunk and a little racist. They will get destroyed by the black ladies and it will be hilarious.

I think Ed Debevic's has closed. :(

Seriously, Twisted Spoke also has my favorite burger in the city, and we have lots of good burgers. It's INCREDIBLY greasy in the best way possible. I also wouldn't be surprised if they lace it with cocaine.
Twisted Spoke-
Friday late, late night special: Smut n' Eggs (vintage porn on all the TV's and breakfast
West End Bar-
Good pre-game sports bar
Map Room- best beer selection

I LOVE this place.

Taking my 6yo boy, anything that is a can't miss for him? We will have Friday afternoon and Saturday. Was thinking Sears/Willis tower on Friday and Field Museum on Saturday. Saturday might be nice enough to do Millienium Park and/or Navy Pier in the afternoon, but wasn't convinced he'd be impressed by either.

Sky deck at the Handcock is much better than the Willis. Better views and a more interesting/fun experience being on Mich Ave. The Willis Tower area is dead on weekends.

Shedd Aquarium, right next to Field Museum.

Pequod's is legit. The founder now has his own tiny restaurant (he sold Pequods but the pizza didn't change) in the burbs where he holds his customers to Soup Nazi standards or they are denied service.

What you're talking about was Burt's, but it closed.

The Goose Island near Wrigley is closed now too, I think someone else suggested that. The one on Clybourn is open, but I think it recently just got completely transferred to Budweiser. It used to be run by the old Goose Island people, but no more.

Art of Pizza is the best deep dish in town, but if you want to sit down at a restaurant go to Pequod's. For those staying in River North, Uno/Due or Lou Malnatti's are your best choices. Piece in Wicker Park is good too, but they are thin crust.

Beer:
Revolution Brewing in Logan Square. Go to the brewpub on Milwaukee, or go to Kedzie for the actual brewery and tap room if you don't want food.

Map Room, Small Bar, Hop Leaf, and Local Option are all great beer bars.

Half Acre Brewing is good, but a tiny tiny tap room. Haymarket is just ok.

Had pizza at a well known place north of the bean this summer. Wasn't impressed and found we didn't really care for deep dish pizza.
