Yeah Larry! Give em' hell!

I don't think they took any of the money he was paid away though. A few mil in salary over the years at ISU softened the blow a bit. Glad to see he righted the ship, will always remember him fondly and root for his team.

This is my first time watching CSU this year. Wow! They are so good at rebounding and getting those 50/50 balls. Iverson is so strong, really wondering what would've been had we got him. Eikmeier is as good as advertised as a shooter, but his defense seems to be a bit lacking. Imagine having him and Iverson with our current roster.

This reminds me a lot of ISU last year...
Playing late game Thursday night in Kentucky.
8 seed playing a 9 seed, and no one things the 8 seed stands a chance leading up to the game.
Win and you get to play the overall #1 in their backyard.

CSU is playing very well. Actually looking forward to seeing them play in the next round!

BVD could have stood by the guy all he wanted, but if Larry wasn't ready to admit he had a problem there wasn't much that could be done. Also, BVD was such an incompetent buffoon that I don't think he had a very good relationship with any of the coaches in Ames much less Larry. BVD certainly didnt have the sort of relationship with LE where I think an intervention would have been successful.

I'd argue that BVDs biggest failure was not addressing the issue sooner. I heard plenty of stories about LEs behavior around Ames long before the final hammer dropped. LE was enabled in Ames for so long that I have my doubts that his recovery would have been successful even if BVD tried to intervene and back him up. The parting has been good for both ISU hoops and for LE. Although I do find myself wondering what that Blalock, Stinson, and Homan team would have looked like with LE coaching.

From what I have heard from a former players brother, LE told BVD he would enter rehab. BVD said he had to let him go and LE told BVD to his face he was f'ing dumb.

Pete's passing was especially bad for Larry. I have heard and read that they were extremely close and that Pete looked out for Larry, warts and all.

Watching CSU play reminds me of what I miss most from Larry's teams at ISU. Mentally tough and extremely strong on the boards. Yet, when given the opportunity, he wanted to get out on the fast break. Also, Iverson reminds me quite a bit of Homan.

BVDV didn't screw Larry; Larry did himself in. And it was President Geoffroy (an excellent collegiate President and athletic supporter) who stood up to have the balls and wanted LE fired - and it wasn't for drinking Natty Lites with Mizzu coeds.
PS: he's such a great coach that he has a losing record to Steve Alford and LE also holds the record for the worst margin defeat in Hilton History.

This team is such a Larry team. Make all their FTs, get EVERY rebound, skilled enough and just so tough. If you come down the lane on these guys, you are going to the deck.

Larry dug his own grave, but do you really think these two facts have anything to do with anything? Who gives a **** what his record was against Alford.

So... you're not a Larry fan.
