Yeah Larry! Give em' hell!

I hope we get to cook his goose. It is always a pleasure at anytime anywhere to see ISU cook any former coach's goose.

Keep your goose to yourself. Larry and CS
would kick our *** if we met, want no part of them based on the way they played last night.

This is a stupid argument.

Running a basketball program is about a lot more than what happens on the court on game nights. And while we were having success on the court, the program was a mess off of it.

I have great respect for President Geoffrey. Going through with firing a championship caliber coach has its costs. But he may have saved LE's life by doing it. Glad Larry is in a successful situation today.

A comment on the game itself, I haven't seen CSU play all year but Larry has done one helluva job coaching them it looks like. They did everything you expected from a well-coached Eustachy team from limiting turnovers to making smart plays to crashing the boards and playing tough defense. I thought Eikmier looked pretty good too, kid can shoot it and looked like he belonged on the court.

I was one that didn't want to see Larry fired, thought that ISU could have used it as an opportunity to help him with his problems but for all involved it seems like both Larry and ISU are back on track and having success. I think his true test comes the next couple season as his team has 5 senior starters right now so he's got quite a challenge to get some talent at CSU and maintain the success.

It wasn't that hard. We weren't in the midst of a winning stretch anymore. Losing makes some decisions much easier.

This argument is old. Larry is a great coach, has a disease, apperars he has his life together. It was fun to watch his team last night as they were very well coached. Happy for him. Happy for the memories he created in his time in Ames. Excited for the future and do not ever want to play an LE coached team unless its unavoidable in late round tournament play.

I thought well of Larry, while he was here also. However, he really deserved to be fired and I think the University did the right thing. I am an ISU fan, not a Larry Eustachy fan. However I am fine with him beating any other team than ISU.

These LE debates will not end until Fred wins a conference championship. Or makes it to the elite 8. Love LE, but hopefully this is the year he is finally forgotten.

You're probably right, but there are some DUMB things that get said. 2 Big 12 titles, 1 Big 12 tourney title, AP Coach of the year, #2 seed twice, elite 8, #3 final ranking...turned around every program he's ever coached...and we have at least one Cyclone fan in the thread saying the guy can't coach. There are 100% irrational opinions on both sides of the discussion.

So what school are you a fan of? Just wondering why you would be on this board.

I am a big fan of AA. Glad Larry is where he is now, but I couldn't care less about the past.

Larry had his team ready to play and they sure did play. Wow! They took Mizzou apart. Congrats to Larry on a big win.

Loved it when CSU was up double digits and Mizzou beat them down the floor for a layup and Larry immediately called a timeout and was letting one of his players have it in the huddle. He still has it... and his team is better for it.

The past is gone but one thing is for certain; Larry is a great coach. I heard Larry on a radio interview about 6 weeks ago and the topic of his player's came up. He said when Wes announced he was leaving ISU, he called GMAC to inquire and GMAC told him don't waste your time, he's a DII player. I'm happy for Wes and I'm happy for Larry. looking forward to the game against L'Ville and will be rooting for CSU to advance.
