WR’s production

I wonder how many targets they had last night, it couldn't have been many. That first pick is on Brock's underthrow but Scates(?) didn't put up much of a fight for it.
Scates also got hit in the chest for a drop on a pass Brock threaded between two defenders.

Looking at the roster, we're younger at WR than I realized. Akers is a RS-Sr, Milton a RS-Jr, Hutchinson is a Jr. That's it for upperclassmen. If everyone else continues to learn, WR could be a strength next year - and we'll need then to be assuming we lose our 3 starting TEs.
While we certainly won't have the TE depth next year that we've enjoyed the past couple years, Campbell did say that Easton Dean is going to be the best tight end we've ever had. Not exactly the bleakest outlook for that room.

I think the staff is also excited about Lovingblack.

I think you may be jumping the gun a bit early. I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of the TE's we have stay considering this year doesn't count towards eligibility AND our TE's are in majors where they might want to try and get their graduate degree.

For Kolar I assume it will depend on his draft projections even though he's an engineering major. Allen is already a RS-Sr. I see he's also in a grad program already. He may be in his second year, in which case he'll need to start working on his thesis. While I'd love to see him stay one more year, I wouldn't fault the kid for deciding to move on with his academic career.

Darren Wilson is also a Junior—and I think he redshirted at JC.

This group is really young, and they didn’t have the benefit of Spring practice or a full offseason working together. Time will take careof that.

Maybe i'm off base here but I think Charlie comes back for one more. He's listed as the 4th best TE right now in college (preseason rankings) and maybe that ranking has dropped given he hasn't lit the world on fire this year. He's still been really solid in 2020, catches everything.

I think if he wants to firmly place himself in the 2nd round or higher he should come back for one more year and dominate.

For the receivers now: Hutchinson has been all that was advertised just a solid, solid big 12 player with more upside to be dominant. Akers is efficient on the outside and at screens, could argue we should be doing that more against blitzing teams. Scates, besides the play against KU his year has been underwhelming and that's putting it nicely. Daniel Jackson looked great against Texas tech but got hurt, like his potential and future. I wish we would try Porter on deep routes or a deep shot, for the sole purpose of just to see what we have here... but maybe his time is coming. In the kickoff return against baylor (early 3rd quarter) Porter was running stride for stride with Kene. Kene is really fast for you new fans to the program.

I do really like the usage of Johnnie Lang outside on screens. He is very quick, and very difficult to tackle. Just the type of guy to utilize in that role. Happy to see him get catches the last two wins.

Campbell has proven that he can recruit and develop quality players so I'm not worried about the future. We just won't have much returning game-proven production IF all three of them leave is all I'm saying. And that is a realistic scenario.

I agree with @cyclone1209 that Kolar will be better off coming back for his senior year. But the NFL will recognize his skills and talent even if his numbers are down this year.

If Kolar has a grade of the first two rounds, he would be silly to come back, an NFL career is short enough the way it is, you have to jump when you have the chance to make the dough. 3rd round or later, come back and see if you can improve your draft stock.
Purdy's draft stock is dropping, so I would expect him to return next year. He would be better off coming back, lots of high quality QB's coming out this year, the kids from Clemson, Ohio St. and ND should lead the list.

Right, you may as well return the year Justin Fields, Ian Book, Alabama QB, Trevor Lawrence, and Zach Wilson go pro

This is actually a pretty stacked year for qb's, best i've seen in a few years

With the youth in the receiving group we really needed Purdy to be on all the time. While his receivers arent helping him Brock is making a ton of mistakes this year. He doesn't look like the preseason hype suggested he would.
I think Brock has been okay this year. He's been far from perfect, but hasn't sucked (for a full game). I'm hoping that his comeback in the second half of the game will spark some fire in him. He was playing with a TON of emotion in that second half. Hopefully that carries over to the rest of the year.
