Iowa averaged just over 5,000 tickets scanned per game… roughly 34% of capacity. The Iowa State and Wisconsin games were the only ones to draw more than 9,000 people. I think he is gone no matter what happens.

What tourney? The NIT? They are a thousand miles from the bubble.

I don't think they are firing him at this point. Do we really think he is even at risk right now? I know he sucks but I don't think they are ready to pull the trigger on him yet.
This was presuming they had a miracle run in Big 10 and got to NCAA

Could you imagine being unemployed and having to live with an empty nested Marge?
Sweet fancy Moses.

I can barely admit it to myself, but Fran has kind of been a bit of lovable loser to me over the last couple of years. They've been no threat and he's been a bit more likable. So I do kind of feel bad if he'll be stuck hanging out with Marge if he has to retire. I sat near her at a game years ago and if you think Fran is intense, she's 100% worse. Iowa won their game and she was yelling at him after the game.

And how many of those excess fans above average were there to cheer the visiting team?

Hell they are far away from the NIT. 17-16 is going to do anything for them.

IF Iowa was going to let Fran go. Would they do it quickly?

What’s quickly? I imagine nothing happens for a month or so
No way. If they're going to fire him, they do very quickly. Especially if they are targeting someone like McCollum or DeVries. But even if not, you have to give your new coach as much of a jump as possible on building a roster. If Iowa waits a month to fire him, Beth is out of her league.

You also need to give the current players as much time to leave as possible. Because no one is going to keep more than 1 or 2 of them.

McCollum to Indiana.
This is what I keep thinking when media people like Murph & Andy bring him up to either Indiana or Iowa in the same breath. Like what...why? It's like saying a coach could go to coach at either Arizona or UCF in the Big 12.

Is Iowa even a top 2/3rd job in the Big 10? Seriously, it feels like a bottom 1/3rd job. Fans don't care, they are football/wrestling only (sometimes WBB if a CC is there) school. It's an awful arena/atmosphere. Hardly any NIL spent on bball compared to their competition.

Whereas Indiana is a name brand program, iconic arena, maybe not the blueblood they once were, but if I'm a neutral coach and both Indiana & Iowa were my options. Indiana seems like the easiest decision ever.

Not even ******* Jess Settles would take Iowa over Indiana if given the direct choice.
