Watching the Illinois game and find myself cheering for the hawks to keep fran around. Made me curious.

Fran is going to make those disloyal fans pay by doing just enough, which could include winning the Crown, to make sure he does not get fired.

Hope they keep him although unless they somehow built a power it does not really impact us much. We play them once a year and are not in the same league so to me it's mostly a bunch of Iowan's getting all wrapped around the axle over "rivalry". We don't recruit Iowa much and don't really seem to recruit the same guys much. Neither Iowa nor the Minnesota Gophers are factors or likely to be big factors.

Iowa does not have the NIL money (they have football to worry about and spend $$$ on) or any recent history that makes them much of a threat to be good. Can't say the same about their WBB program, that's running along pretty well. Bigger deal since we do recruit Iowa for WBB and it generates more Div I level players than in MBB.

Honestly I don’t really care at all. If they somehow got DeVries that doesn’t scare me either. Not sure he will even succeed at the big level. Iowa basketball is so irrelevant at this point.

I just want Fran to be given the chance to complete what he’s been doing at Iowa: burying their men’s basketball program beyond the point of resurrection.
He's been so busy digging out from the Lickliter era, that he didn't notice the dirt falling back into the hole.

I think if they just make Tourney they cannot fire him

Does not need to be sweet 16
What tourney? The NIT? They are a thousand miles from the bubble.

I don't think they are firing him at this point. Do we really think he is even at risk right now? I know he sucks but I don't think they are ready to pull the trigger on him yet.
