Would Ames High beat ISU?

Geez guys lay off a bit. I realize we just got destroyed, but you don't need to take it out on people. He was just joking around, there is no way he was serious. Everyone just needs to calm down and not belittle one of our brethren.

Exactly. Good grief people, calm down. Just the fact that 12 people have responded saying "We would kill Ames High!" is a statement to how frustrating our BB program has become.

I listened on the radio. How many times did Brackins fade away from inside 2 feet of the hoop? Anyone watch? Since the most improvement happens between the first and second year, I think any talk of CB and the NBA is ludicrous at this point. His game is soft as charmin and I think that is our biggest problem.

Edit: Posted in the wrong thread. And yes CB's ultra softness would greatly benefit Ames High.

As usual Craig missed a lot of shots. Today his problem wasn't the little fade away. Instead most of his misses were on 15-22 foot jump shots.

Point out how someone would detect sarcasm in your post.

I would say the fact that I asked whether a high school team would beat a Big 12 team would be a pretty good indicator.

I figured that if some posters missed that obvious attempt at sarcasm, the winking emoticon would be my safety net, and help out the slow ones.

I doubt it, even with Barnes. ISU has too much size and speed compared to a high school team. Perhaps a school like Oak Hill Academy could give the clones a run for their money. Again, it's high school kids against college kids.

It's just like the argument about Florida vs the Detroit Lions.

This is funny, but the answer is no.

ISU would tear them apart to be honest. I would be embarassed if they didn't. Ames has 3 Div 1 Recruits. Every single one of Iowa State's players is a Div 1 Recruit. Get what I'm saying?

Don't try to say that anybody starting for ISU wouldn't score 20 every game for Ames. Diante would be unstoppable, and don't even get me started on Brackins. He would be scoring 30 poitns every game.

Basically what it comes down to is that all of the players on ISU were once what the (best) players at Ames are now. Only they have more experience and are a heck of a lot bigger.

Heck, Alex Thompson was once the star at Ames High. Look at him now.

Also, just to complete my statement:

Vanderbeken - 6'11"
Hamilton - 6'11"
Craig Brackins - 6'10"

Ames's tallest guy is Kohler, and his basketball career will be over in 2 years.

This thread is turrible.

The internet provides a wonderful opportunity for people to express their opinions. It also allows people the freedom to point out the absurdness of it.

Harrison would be the best player on the court by far. And the way some here break it down, our team is basically a team of immature high schoolers also. ISU would never take this game for more than just the obvious reasons.

Have you seen Ames play?

Bubu? will end up D-1.
Pritchard to Yale (D-1).
Kohler will be D-1 FB.
Weber? is a Petey clone.
Harrison

Plus McDermott's son off the bench, and some other quality players. If you are scoffing at the notion of Ames beating ISU you have not watched enough ISU basketball in the last 3 years.

We would have a coaching advantage though. I think.
