Will Iowa talk to Pollard?

If Barta isn't scared of Pollard yet, he damn well should be...Pollard is selling Iowa State athletics to people like it's USC, It's unbelievable how good he is. put it this way ISU will NOT have to worry about having to buy a friggin website titled firejamiepollard.com...on that note as well: didn't iowa realize someone could just make a "firegarybarta1.com" or "firekirkferentz1.com"????

Oh and as far as McDermott leaving ISU for iowa: no way...no friggin way...

I just think its awesome about how we are talking about iowa wanting a coach from us, remember back in the day when we got an ex-iowa coach (Mac)? Times change FAST.

I think Iowa is looking BIG NAME. Pressure from the Tubby hire at Minnesota. No more mid major hires!!!!! Let's face it, MCD is still a mid major name. I would look for a hard run Gillespie (sp) , I would also look for Crean (sp) but I think if Kentucky doesn't snatch Donovan it will be him. Barta's job and future depends on this hire, he will bring in a name, I don't even think Stallings is big enough for this one.

I think the pressure is really on Barta. Jamie Pollard has been eating up the headlines since he came here, and Barta has been about as visible as a Navy seal. Making a move for McDermott would be career suicide. Basically admitting that Iowa dropped the ball by not making a decisive move last year. Plus Pollard wouldn't give up GMAC without a fight, and that man knows how to fight.

It would seem that one could create thousands of "fireKirkFarentz1.com" sites and then recieve considerable amounts of money when the University buys them up. I smell a buisness in the making!

I'd say that it isn't either one of those. If you buy a site name, then someone offers you Xamount of money to shut it down, it can't be proven as profiteering unless it is a necessity or semi-necessity that is needed for the community to live and have to pay you (usually more than the average) to get it.

Also, it isn't blackmail, either. As far as anyone, or myself knows, s/he didn't contact the bar owner and thell them that they should do something, else it would ruin their reputaton in the community.
