Wigginton news (until he is back) thread

I think we are right now a better team than that team with Monte was at this point in the year. That team 2 years ago really didn’t get off to a very good start then caught fire in February.

Yeah, they were still looking for Niang for about a month with no real alternative. This year's team has way better ball movement and ability to be multiple currently.

Geez, give that '16-17 team Jacobsen though....

THT (like the freshman thing) will also be challenged to not get caught up in it and force things. Been great the last few games but occasionally still pulls out the fade away.

I'd imagine Iowa will get out to a fast start and we'll see what happens if things settle down.

Remember, though, that Iowa's best player right now is also a freshman. Even though he plays within himself a little bit more, he's never been in a game like this. THT played in a lot rougher gyms during his high school career, in comparison.

I went to the Iowa Pitt game last night due to free tickets from a Pitt coach and CIMD. Iowa is so slow they will have a tough time keeping up with us. Keep the pace up and it will go better for us. They don't adjust and rotate when they double up the dribbler on a screen so a good pick and roll works well. THT and NWB will be able to blow by defenders. It should be an interesting game.

They key is to get Babb into attack mode... I just don't get why he is so reserved at times, especially when he has a clear advantage.

Who, Weiskoff or Weiscamp or whatever?

I've seen Iowa play a couple of times. I actually didn't mind him. Just seems to come in and play some ball. The rest of the team wants to do a 'hold me back' brigade over a lay up or unnecessary no-look pass.

Weiskamp could have really been a star at Wisconsin. Instead he’ll just be Matt Gatens at Iowa. But that was his choice. Nice player though.

He does have a really sweet stroke but he needs someone around him to create...

Hines said on his latest podcast he talked to Wigginton before the game Monday night and he wouldn't rule him out for the Iowa game yet

Stupid question - How does recovery from an injury like that work, anyway? Is it something where it's like degrees of healthy or is it an either/or deal where his foot is sprained and he can't play or it isn't sprained and he's good to go?

Because if it's the first thing where he can play even if the sprain isn't all the way healed then I'd just as soon he sit until it is.

Because as the PG, it's vital to get others in the flow of the game. He picks his spots so he doesn't put up bad shots. A bigger concern is THT's shot selection, though it will improve as he figures things out. Until Wigg returns, he is the one who can create his own shots the best, and he is an excellent passer. Babb will still have the ball in late game situations .
