This isn't a criticism, just an observation. But where has Jamie Pollard been during this whole flooding situation? Tons of news stories indirectly related to ISU athletics and I don't think I've seen his name once.

Of course, this is obviously a very recent and very sudden story. He could be out of town on a two-day business trip and miss the whole thing.

Anyway, I was just wondering. As I said, this isn't a criticism.

I'm sure he's busy as hell right now trying to reschedule any games that might need to be done, new equipment and floors, financial situations, etc.

A guy I know said he was on a fishing trip with some friends. He is fishing with the guys cousin.

Not much he can do until the water is gone anyway.

That's fine, like I said, I'm just curious. Pollard is always front and center no matter the story so I figured something had to be going on since he hadn't commented on anything.

Nothing to be done by him at the moment. All the information has gotten out. The problem right now is something that is all in the facilities and events peoples hands. Once the water is gone and an assessment can be made of what needs to be fixed, and how to fund the recovery JP can actually get into it.

If only there was some type of device that would allow him to be able to communicate with staff members while in another location. Why oh why has no one invented such a thing?

:pbaffled:

This isnt an athletics issue in the grand scheme. Not sure what he would able to do anyway. He deserves a couple days off.

Hopefully he doesn't have AT&T

I think a lot of people are missing the point here. It isn't about what Pollard can *do* as we all know he's just as helpless as anyone until the water recedes. But he is the chief spokesman for the department and it's very un-Pollard-like - indeed, unheard of - for him to be silent through a major event like this. So I assume he has to be unavailable for whatever reason. Which is fine, like I've said I'm just curious.

I hope he's enjoying his trip. Definitely deserves it after the stressful first half of the year.

And am I the only one who thought of this when I saw the thread title?
