When will Clone fans starting respecting UNI?

fixed it for you junior . . . Kabooom!

I hope a dictionary is on your list you gave to Santa.

The Kaboom thing, what's that about? If you are trying to make your posts look even more dumb, you really don't need anymore help.

Over the years, I've seen hundreds of Cyclone fans go out of their way to bash UNI on these boards (including that dope who wrote that embarrassing letter to the editor this fall in the DM Register). Basically, ISU fans seem to treat UNI like Iowa fans treat ISU (i.e. annoying/inferior stepbrother status).

After consistently beating ISU in basketball (5 out of the last 6), going to the NCAA tournament regularly (including a Sweet 16 appearance), and beating ISU in football on multiple occasions in the last decade, when will ISU fans start respecting UNI?

I'm not an ISU fan who feels I must tear down UNI in order to cheer on the Cyclones, so I have difficulty understanding that mindset. I just can't wrap my head around it.

Lastly, please don't bring up "ugly" style of play. Winning is winning and playing the "style" card is sad and pathetic. I would rather win with five “unathleticâ€￾ hardworking kids from Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota than lose with five superior athletes who can neither grasp the concept of team basketball or hard work.

The bottom line is this: a tournament-caliber Big 12 team should have its way with a Missouri Valley team. That certainly doesn't mean beating the MVC team every year, or beating that team badly every time out. But even mediocre UNI squads have beaten the Cyclones routinely in recent years.

It isn't a matter of lack of respect for UNI, I think most of us have that. It's a frustration with knowing that, in all honesty, we need to be head and shoulders above UNI to compete in the Big 12 and have the type of season we'd like to have. And in recent years we just haven't been able to do that.

Every time UNI hits a 3-pointer, Panthers radio caller Gary Rima, yells "KABOOM!"

I won't be satisified until we have beaten UNI 15 straight to right the record of wrongs we have witnessed under the previous two fools we have had presiding over our program.

I am starting to be annoyed by UNI, and if you think that constitutes respect, then have at it.

OP read this multiple times. Understand yet? If not read again. Trice is exactly right.

Thank you! I had no idea what that meant. Never really listened to a UNI game on the radio or do I have any reason to.

Being a UNI alum as well I follow them quite a bit, obviously I am a lot bigger Iowa State fan...First make no mistake Coach Jake can coach, the coaching difference was painfully obvious last night. The run UNI made to the Sweet Sixteen was invaluable for them, they learned how to win, which we do not know how to do. Moran, Sonnen, Koch, James all played a significant part on that team. Unless Jake takes another job anytime soon we will be in a dogfight with UNI every year.

I'd say 3. Morgan, McDermott, and Hoiberg have all been owned by UNI with a solid 3-6 record over the last 9 years.

2003-04: 79-76 W
2004-05: 99-82 L
2005-06: 68-61 W
2006-07: 70-57 L
2007-08: 61-48 L
2008-09: 71-66 W
2009-10: 63-60 L
2010-11: 60-54 L
2011-12: 69-62 L

I am not willing to lump Fred in with those...um...other two..just yet. I'm more fully in a skeptic's camp than ever before at this point, however and it has me in a pretty foul mood regarding MBB.

That record you show is just flat out emabarassing.

Never!

It is a directional school. **** off!

Stop throwing out stupid Iowa references. There is no tangible or quantitative reason Iowa should be heads and shoulders above us. We should be competitive with them year in and year out.

We have more money, better facilities, more alumni and play in a larger conference than UNi so we SHOULD be ticked off and embarrassed losing to them 7 out of the last 9 years.

I agree that we should be beating UNI if not every year, pretty much every year...I just don't understand the hater comments about UNI. It really reminds me of the things I hear Iowa fans say about ISU! Living in Cedar Rapids I hear those statements all the time! Should Iowa State fans root for UNI? Not if they don't want to...but hating just to hate makes me think of Iowa fans.
