What I know about the Prohm/Alabama speculation...

Add Beard, Huggins, and Weber to that list. And since you’re a body-of-work type and not one of those what-have-you-done-for-me lately types, body of work gets Drew and Lon higher.

I think Beard and Prohm are on a similar line. Drew is debatable - not because of success, but because I don't think it's been done as on the up-and-up as many would believe. Huggins is a thug so I refuse to give him credit. Lon has underachieved if you look at the recruits.

Curious what you think of dauster saying prohm wants out of ames.

Also it feels like you are back tracking from yesterday a bit.

I'm not back tracking at all. This isn't a story. Exactly what I wrote. I didn't hear anything that Dauster said so I can't really comment on that specifically, but do know that Steve likes Ames and I believe is pretty loyal to JP.

Prohm’s agent wouldn’t even buy this.

My hok buddies were talking about this yesterday about this time. They love to mess with ISU fans. I'll bet there are tOSU fans who are weighing in on this too, just to mess with us for tonight. I told the hok trolls that I'm not worried since we have the NCAA AD of the year, we'll be fine no matter what happens. That backed them off a little. My suggestion for the next few hours and days is to stay calm and enjoy our run in the tournament.

Cool.

Dauster and/or whoever was on his podcast today said that Prohm wants out of Ames and before A&M fired Kennedy there were some back channel discussions between him and A&M about taking that job over for Kennedy and Kennedy taking an admin position. Obviously, he wouldn't go there after they fired Kennedy.

But that whole story is so oddly specific that it has the legs of being true. Like, any idiot could speculate that he'd want to go to Alabama because that's where he went to school. Or could speculate about him (or his wife) wanting to go back south. But it's very specific to say he wants out of Ames and that weird A&M scenario.

And he puts it out there on the morning of ISU's first tournament game tonight. Total garbage move. No journalistic integrity whatsoever.

Randy is doing his best to make it a story though. Which is annoying as ****

Do you have a link to the pod?

Sorry, but there is no way he shouldn't be making 3 to 3.25mil considering we're still a basketball school. Most of the programs on that list are Football 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with their priorities so our benchmark should be a bit different.

Edit: Obviously my number has come down a bit since I was initially too lazy to look up the numbers myself. I do think 3 to 3.25 is very fair and reasonable given our dual-sport focus. We also have some natural geographic disadvantages when it comes to sports so we need to stop being so damn cheap if we want sustainable success without turnover every 3-5 years.
