What excuse will EIU come up with?

ISU shot almost 36% from three, how much better do you think they're shooting against a team with as much size as Iowa?

Seriously, I know it's impossible to give Iowa any credit at all, but ISU played pretty well tonight. The boxscore doesn't lie. Both teams played a good game, ISU made their ft's down the stretch, Iowa didn't.
I think it was all the missed FTs that made it feel like we were playing like crap.

Well our next big game is a football game, so it is natural for Iowa fan to be looking forward to that now. Once our bowl game on Jan 1st is over, against LSU, then I will focus on BB again.

The football game wouldn't have been your next big game had you won tonight. I can guarantee you that. But go ahead and make your excuses. It's funny.

We went to a bowl game last year while your team was home at 4-8, so don't act like you're all that.

That certainly didn't help. But neither did the fact that we played horrible defense either. Iowa was beating us down the court all night long. That shouldn't happen. Our guys were being really lazy.

I thought Iowa was the better team, they just wanted it more. Which you should expect with Iowans on the team. In the end though:
Moral Victory for Iowa
Real Victory for ISU

Not exactly what I meant. Posts I normally see from both sides which annoy me a lot are post of "at least we won in football" or posting the football score or something, like football matters in a basketball game. Both sides do it and it drives me insane.

Denial is such a cute quality to walk around with.

I guess we should be worried that Fran may want to cancel this series like he did to UNI

Are you always this dense or is it just a rivalry thing.
I hope you realize that ISU didn't play UNI last year, and ISU didn't play Drake this year. Did they cancel their series too?

I hope for ISU's sake that you don't represent the intelligence of all clone fans.

If you think that was Iowa's best game, you haven't watched them at all.

Who is saying Iowa got a moral victory? They pizzed the game down their legs

It wouldn't have? I think you should check out Iowa's schedule again. Stop talking out of your ***.

...and nobody (outside of Hawkome) will care about whatever January bowl game they're playing in a month later. I seriously don't know what bowl game Iowa is in. I guess it's in January with 13 or something other bowls.

I will assume it's going to be as riveting as the 2001 Outback Bowl (assuming anyone knows who played in it, if that bowl existed.)

Serious? You found 2 games, and you had to go back 5 years for one of them???? Thx for proving my point.

Use your head - do you honestly think that I went back and looked at tons of games just to find these two? My point was, in case you missed it, that when the home team is not a good team, it doesn't matter - they will get called for more fouls, because they aren't as good.

I agree that the home team, when they're decently good, gets called for less fouls, but (a) That's not true of every game and (b) there's more to the numbers i.e. a strategy the teams employ i.e. some teams attack the inside more.

Here you go, here's a few games from a week ago:

No, I am pretty sure that the Outback bowl is going to be bigger than a December game against Nebby or Ark Pine Bluff, regardless of the outcome tonight.

True Dat. Iowa just doesn't have another big BB game until Jan 5th against Wisconsin.....so football is on my mind now!!

Not trying to troll here, and I am sure I will get reamed, so I'm just gonna hang up and listen. But IMO Iowa wins on a neutral court by 8-10 points. Iowa State is pretty good, but if it weren't for the horrendous officiating in the first 20 minutes, this one might have been over at halftime. Gotta give credit where it is due though, definitely a much more "clutch" team than Iowa.

Good night.
IMO good teams find ways to win games. That was about as **** poor as I have seen a Hoiberg team play and they still won.

It is understandable that a Clone fan wouldn't know what games are played in January.

If you're talking football....Iowa plays in the Big Ten. Anyone who has practiced should do pretty well with that kind of schedule. The Big 12 is really bad, but the Big Ten is really bad too. Beating Nebraska is like...beating Nebraska these days, which is the complete polar opposite of beating Nebraska when they were good.

If you seriously think this, then you don't watch much BB. Both teams are good, so I'm not sure what you are trying to say. I mean ISU is a good team, but how much would you be willing to bet that ISU gets to the line 15 more times if this game was at Carver?

We lost the game, but to deny reality in college BB is just silly. The home teams gets the benefit of the calls 99% of the time.

This is what makes me laugh. ISU had a career game from Niang, and close to a career game from Ejim yet somehow you guys are trying to convince yourself that Iowa played their best ever and ISU sucked. It just isn't true. If ISU makes more FT's early, it is a different game. If Iowa makes a couple FT's late, it is a different outcome. Simple really.

...and the winner of the 2001 Outback Bowl is....? I mean, it's cool and all. AMAZING. Really.

Iowa's Orange Bowl win a few years ago put them up there with....Kansas, winning the Orange Bowl.

ISU hasn't had the January bowl thing, but they've never had something like 20 non-winning seasons in a row. Traditionally speaking, of course. So they have that going for them.
