What excuse will EIU come up with?

If you seriously think this, then you don't watch much BB. Both teams are good, so I'm not sure what you are trying to say. I mean ISU is a good team, but how much would you be willing to bet that ISU gets to the line 15 more times if this game was at Carver?

We lost the game, but to deny reality in college BB is just silly. The home teams gets the benefit of the calls 99% of the time.

1) I'm not talking about tonight's game. You were the one who first said that the home team *always* gets less fouls called against them. We aren't even talking about this game tonight anymore. It should have also been apparent when I brought up three games that were not even from tonight.

2) Apparently you don't know how to read my second paragraph when I agreed with you that on average, the home team does get less calls. There is a difference between *always* and "most, but not all, of the time."

And yes, I watch quite a bit of basketball and I am also a mathematician, so excuse me for being a little literal in this, but I take a small amount of offense to someone saying "always" when it doesn't hold.

The football game wouldn't have been your next big game had you won tonight. I can guarantee you that. But go ahead and make your excuses. It's funny.

We went to a bowl game last year while your team was home at 4-8, so don't act like you're all that.

Ummmm, last year is last year. Us losing tonight has no bearing on me being excited about being in the Outback bowl. The schedule is what it is. Our next good BB game is Jan 5th against Wisky. Jan 1 comes before Jan 5, so I'm looking forward to the football game next

IMO good teams find ways to win games. That was about as **** poor as I have seen a Hoiberg team play and they still won.

I agree with you. But that's not a popular opinion right now on this site which apparently is crawling with Hawkeyes.

bahahaha....you seriously are gonna argue the "always" card??? You know what I meant, and if you didn't you are too stupid to waste any more time with.

Yep, I'm too dumb. I knew exactly what you meant, and I still felt like calling you out on it because, well - people should be called out on their "always" stupidity statements. It's nothing short of being a cognitive miser.

Wasn't this Hok the one saying Hoks would be talking football if they lost? Self-fulfilling prophecy I guess?

If you're talking football....Iowa plays in the Big Ten. Anyone who has practiced should do pretty well with that kind of schedule. The Big 12 is really bad, but the Big Ten is really bad too. Beating Nebraska is like...beating Nebraska these days, which is the complete polar opposite of beating Nebraska when they were good.

Stones in glass houses.....might want to be careful.....plus this is a BB thread, drop the football talk already.

...and the winner of the 2001 Outback Bowl is....? I mean, it's cool and all. AMAZING. Really.

Iowa's Orange Bowl win a few years ago put them up there with....Kansas, winning the Orange Bowl.

ISU hasn't had the January bowl thing, but they've never had something like 20 non-winning seasons in a row. Traditionally speaking, of course. So they have that going for them.

Something to hang your hat on.

Not trying to troll here, and I am sure I will get reamed, so I'm just gonna hang up and listen. But IMO Iowa wins on a neutral court by 8-10 points. Iowa State is pretty good, but if it weren't for the horrendous officiating in the first 20 minutes, this one might have been over at halftime. Gotta give credit where it is due though, definitely a much more "clutch" team than Iowa.

Good night.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL. The basketball game made my night, but this is a close second. It's this kind of post that makes me love the internet.

There are more Hawks in this thread than Cyclones. On a website called Cyclone Fanatic.

I learned last year that "scoreboards" supposedly don't matter.

If the Hawks win a tourney game while we get dunked on every 1.4 seconds in the NIT title game, scoreboard for this game won't matter. Until then, it does.
