A lot of people will disagree, and I totally get that, but I would like to see ISU pull the rip chord on Campbell. It really sucks, because I think Campbell is a good dude, but I think it's over and anyone who thinks he can turn it around is only kidding themselves.

I can't explain what happened and why things went south so quickly. I think the answer is probably just catching lightning in a bottle with Breece and Heacock. We aren't recruiting well, the team isn't in a good spot, and next year's team is clearly going to be significantly worse. I just don't see why you would stick with it.

Well said, IMO. I think a philosophy change is needed on that side of the ball. There's such little urgency on offense, and seemingly a lack of desire to ever generate explosive plays unless it's Breece breaking a long one over the past few years.

Others have said it elsewhere, gotta realize points matter more than time of possession.
I almost feel like the offense and special teams have been set up to not take any chances. Just eat up some clock, don't take too many chances, and hope that the other team makes more mistakes so that we win.

Honestly, that worked great when they were undermanned, and just trying to turn the program around. Now that it has turned around, I feel like it keeps nearly every even game in doubt, makes us really predictable and the pressure of expectations leads to mistakes that lead to coming up just short.

I’m really starting to believe this is the case, but for some reason believe CMC deserves to be allowed to make the necessary changes….. which for me the bare minimum is firing Myers and Manning and hiring a ST coach….. and bringing in outsiders to replace Myers and Manning…. not just promoting your buddies like Scheelhaase.

CMC basically said afterwards again that winning isn’t what matters.

I get what he’s saying…. just really tired of hearing it week after week.

He’s paid millions a year to win games.
I hate his coach speak so bad. It’s one of the worst out there. Solid football coach, but good lord have mercy winning matters. Like he gets up there loss after loss and just talks about how the players are improving as fathers and husbands. Like what in the world is he saying? Save the counseling talk for the locker room.

I'll add a kicker to the list, or maybe the current ones could be coached up by a competent special teams coach. They must have some talent to have been given scholarships after all. The staff just can't seem to develop it

Agree completely.

Can't believe that wasn't an option.

People need to start thinking of that as an option pretty quick.

Next year will be atrocious.
I did have it on there but cut it as I didn't think it was a very realistic change, and there's a limit to the number of options available

Time to have a real Spring game and maybe to help identify any issues that need to be fix going into next Fall.

I picked 'other' as I'd like to see a team that is very fundamentally sound and succinct in what they do.

"For some reason" being that he's had more success at Iowa State than any coach in the history of the program? I don't disagree with your takes but I don't understand the people that want to fire Campbell immediately after his first bad season.

I'm fine with our strategy. But we need to go all in. Our offensive line, special teams, & execution need to be as elite as our defense. We need more focus here somehow.

I think the frustrating part is how much NFL talent in the previous couple years, and even raw talent this year, we've had on offense with little competence to show for it.

He shouldn’t be fired and anyone who says so is stupid. Even if he ends up continuing this way and IS fired in a few years, you don’t dump a guy who up until this season was behind OU only in conference wins for what five straight years or whatever the stat is?

The man has had a very bad season and yes last year was not good either with what we had returning. But let’s see what the offseason brings. If this exact same thing happens again with only 1 conference win next year and still this inept on offense especially then his seat should be getting warmer.

We never throw long to Stanley who has speed and was brought in to make safeties honest. Evidently Shaw is a lost cause. The unknown from our view in the stands, is that the QB doesn’t have enough time due to poor OL play to allow deep throws to develop.

A lot of people need to see the same thing repeatedly for years before they may change their minds. How many do you think would be content with 2-10, 3-9 or even no wins so long as it’s close? Even after such a performance how many would continue to say, “But back in 2020!”
