I could see that. How else could someone come to the park for 30+ years at $40,000 a day.
He said he's been 'coming here for 30 years', not been here for 30 years. He also said at one point that this time he wasn't leaving, meaning the past times he did. I don't think I buy either of the theories about him we've seen so far.
SPOILER
So the MiB runs a company that saves people's lives and he enjoys his vacations.
White Hat is married/dating Black Hat's sister.Yeah. And the black hat, white hat guys belong to a family (one which white hat married in to) that is owner of West World? Anyone else interpret their interaction that way? The black hat guy said, "The family is always about business".
I don't know if it is West World that they own, but whatever business they are in has a direct correlation to West World. Was my understanding.Yeah. There was a part at the beginning when a guy is talking to his friend about the past times he had been in the park. Said "First time it was a family trip, hunting, fishing, camping. Next time, straight evil, best two weeks of my life." So there must be storylines and things that can be catered to children/families.what was with the family in episode 1 who came across Delores painting. wtf, who brings their kids to a world of robot rape and murder?

Now, this I obviously don't know, and where the sotryline meets the backstory and is a bit questionable. Probably not something that the creators of the show were too worried about. I think that the first episode was for the sake of us, viewers, to show us how the world worked. How things change with simple interactions, how you can do different things every day and it doesn't necessarily "change" the world. And I think they just wanted to show that it was still an amusement park, even if the recurring guests choose to go "evil" there are still enough things/storylines/activities that they can all happen in peace. But you do bring up a fair point.I may have missed it, but how many guests do they allow in the park at a time. I realize the world is big, but if I took my kids on the family trip part of it, how do the other more scandalous quests not bleed over into my little world.
I think it is safe to assume there is some connection with Hopkins and Harris' characters. What that is, remains to be seen. But there was a glimpse of them talking to each other, in Westworld, in the "preview" after the episode last night. The last two episodes have sure set up Anthony Hopkins as bad guy in chief.
I'm looking at a swerve here.
