Weiskamp status?

I don't really disagree with that. Wigginton is the better player, sure, but Iowa State has had weeks to gel without him. Could see where being down Wieskamp would be more detrimental for this game in particular.

Plus, we at least have THT. Not the exact same as LW but brings a similar skill set, we also have other good athletes to replace him with. Not a ton different then how we would play with LW. They not only have to replace Joe with a less talented guy, they have to replace him with someone who has a totally different skill set. It completely changes their team.

Yeah, for sure Wigginton is the better player. I don't think any reasonable person would suggest otherwise. But the Cyclones have had a few weeks to adjust to playing without him, and they have other guys who can take up the slack.

Iowa is already heavily dependent on Wieskamp as their most versatile player. If he can't go or if he's limited that creates a mountain of problems for them.

Well you can't afford to fire Fran so that sucks

It is terrible, I blindly supported it for 7 years, ignored last year because when our dumb ass AD pulled a fast one on the fan base with that extension I was done. I was not even excited for the beginning of this year except for the actual basketball IQ of Connor and Joe compared to the rest of the team. I have seen our bad coaching and clock management derail good seasons. We are stuck with this crap for at the least 3 more years.

I fully expect JW to play for the Hoks tonight. AND, if he is somehow "out" until Christmas, my guess is that we won't know until game time. Either way, I have a good feeling about this game as long as our players play with the intensity of the Iowa natives - 'cuz you know that Baer, Jorbo, & co will be upping their game! If we do the same, I am confident in a win. If we come in there worrying about how we're going to celebrate a win/with a lack of focus - then it will be a repeat of 2 years ago.

Just heard that the guys frosted their tips so we’re ******.

Having seen it happen live and having numerous ankle sprains throughout my very illustrious basketball career I would be shocked if he is good to go after 3 days. I hope he plays though.

Agreed, the only way he plays is if they do the stiffest tape-job in history and shoot him full of painkillers. Ive sprained my ankle before and could barely walk the next day, the look on his face when he left the game Monday night is about all the indication you need thats not going to be ready tonight.

This is a must win game for them in many ways. Not for tourney purposes because they aren't getting in regardless but the fans are going to jump ship if they lose tonight

That would require them to be on the ship in the first place. A "ranked" team playing an in state rival and they can't even sell out?

I really like our chances of winning this game. Unfortunately that makes me nervous. Two years ago, I was thinking there was literally no way our team would lose to them. Of course we had guys tweeting about having special celebrations prepared etc and they went in there and got their asses handed to them. I like where this team is at mentally at this point much more than two years ago, but that L will keep me from being cocky about this game for a long, LONG time.

I think his face kind of looks like that all of the time.

Oregon will make the tournament. At least a few teams from the Pac12 have to make it.

They might be better when King returns but they are going to have to do something to differentiate themselves in the PAC-12 since that conference looks pretty weak. Winning 4 out of every 7 games isnt going to get them in the tourney.
