All I know is I would hate to have to guard that THT stepback on a bad ankle. That has all the makings for his ankle to melt away or spontaneously combust or something like that.

We have done more against better teams, and Iowa's wins look less impressive every week. We have a very strong home court for the Big 12 slate.
Hate to say it, but looking at March, Iowa needs this game more than us. We have a game or two to give; they are going to quickly be in a tight spot.
Somewhat related: I think I’d rather play man rather than zone with an ankle sprain. It’s all about keeping that thing hot.
This is a must win game for them in many ways. Not for tourney purposes because they aren't getting in regardless but the fans are going to jump ship if they lose tonight
I don't think this win matters a great deal for the Hawks tourney chances, the b1g is so hyped up that they'll have plenty of chances for quality wins. Weren't there like 7 b1g teams rated this week? Even if the Hawks and Nebby fall out, that still leaves a lot of opportunities.
I think this game is bigger deal for them not losing their fan base. A loss tonight will linger the rest of the month, then Purdue comes to town, followed by a decent Husker team. Could be disastrous for Fran and Barta

Just a constant source of entertainment - not only the shush, but eye pokes, arm grabbing on jump balls, all the short arm stuff, clinking groins with Gesell, and of course getting the ball bounced off his ass for a layup by DeAndre (and fouling him besides).

Honestly, I just let him shoot that. It's been a low % shot other than a couple of games. Can't really defend it.
I don't really disagree with that. Wigginton is the better player, sure, but Iowa State has had weeks to gel without him. Could see where being down Wieskamp would be more detrimental for this game in particular.
Its funny because everybody knew (including McCabe) that shot was going to be about 3 feet short before it even started coming back down.

Luckily, he's got a whole lot of other more effective moves that would be harder to guard than that one.
I love how confident he comes off the screen and pulls up but not even a second later he realizes just how bad of a shot it is and makes a half assed attempt to follow it. I swear he thinks its in when it leaves his hand, then in an instant, he figures it out.
