We never learn

Would that OC we could have hired recruited some better o lineman in time for the season? Because that is really the crux of the matter. Our online is just not very talented. I’ve seen better lines at UNI regularly.
But then, run some plays to compensate for that. I mean, you gotta run up the middle to keep them honest, but we didn't need to keep them honest for 3.5 quarters...

First game, on the road, against a very good defensive line. I have no doubt that those complaining now were giving us no chance of success after our start last season too.
It is going to be tough finding wins to replace OU and TCU. Unless you are banking on those happening again this year...

Again, we aren't terrible. I'm not angry, and I am not riding shotgun on Rabbuk's salt truck. But our schedule really works against us.

We're delusional. ISU will never beat Iowa. Try as we might, kool-aid etc, Iowa will be always be better. Campbell is good, great even, but will never be Ferentz. Vent over; I'll now drink myself to sleep.

FYI: not a troll, graduated 08, lived in helser haber.

Graduated 2nd grade in 08. Go to bed junior, its past your bedtime.

If you would have told me that Iowa only scores 13 I would have banked on the blowout. This might be one of the most hyped season I can remember in a long time... that was a reality check! I really believed that we would win...

Why? If you believed that then you are an idiot.

Iowa’s defense was always going to be good. Our offense hasn’t been good in decades.

We were never going to blow out Iowa.

Who knows? But we lost close games to KSU, wv, osu, and Texas. Win 2 of those games this year and we make it up.
I'm not giving up yet. And I will be positively slap-happy if you are right.

Yes your right, we prefer coordinators who learn on the Job. He will be good by Game 10 or 11.

And then, based on some of the other comments I’ve seen here today, we will start all over again from scratch next year like we’ve never even seen a football game? You know, because we need to have played a few games to understand what the hell is going on?

Do coaches really start every single year with zero knowledge of how to call plays and make changes during the game?

This is a train wreck of a start to the 2018 season. The cancelled 1st game and a complete disaster at Iowa.

It looks dark. No o-line. A QB that's a better story than a football player. Rivalry loss...

But

The season can still be saved

In no way shape or form am I happy with the offense today. But we’ve laid big fat eggs with an OC as well (Texas last year, the entire year before that). My point is that this talking point is a cheap cop out and just a predictable line of attack from trolls that really has no way of being proven out except that we lost this time. If we win next week and play well on offense are these people coming back to start threads about how it was a good call not hiring an OC?
