Didn't say just shared with me at the game that Bill had gotten a new commitment on his trip to Cal. (this was at Baylor game)
NCAA rules prohibit coaches from discussing recruits, but it's no secret in recruiting circles that Wisconsin's top frontcourt target is 6-foot-5 Alex Cohen of Nicolet High School in Glendale.
Cohen's combination of size and versatility have brought her offers from around the country, including Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa, Northwestern, Rutgers, California, Kentucky, Iowa State, Missouri and Bowling Green, as well as Marquette, UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee. She's also made an unofficial visit to perennial power Stanford.
-------------
"She's a legit 6-5 and her ability to play the perimeter is what intrigues coaches," said Waring. "If you can get a kid who's the tallest player on your team and she can play inside and outside, that really stretches a defense.
"This kid can run the floor, too. She's just one of those kids that coaches can't help but get excited about because they look at a 6-5 kid who plays like she's 6-1."
These schools have some recruiting appeal, but, they can't take everyone. There are plenty of kids in the top hundred who could contribute to our rise to the final four - we just have to keep at it.Must be nice to be Stanford, TN, UConn. Move in on recruits later when they have proven themselves.

Iowa St and Rutgers are her best offers so far. Got to hate Stanford for moving in on our recruits though. Must be nice to be Stanford, TN, UConn. Move in on recruits later when they have proven themselves. This would be the 3rd recruit in the last 3 years I know of that Tara has moved in on after a ISU offer.
Feb 9th was probably senior night for a lot of teams, so this is a bit circumstantial. It'd be really nice if true, though.![]()
I road down the elevator with Pat and some of her team at the Insight Bowl in 2000. They were staying at the same hotel as our Alumni Association. They were already dressed for their game with ASU that was being played outside at Bank One Ballpark . It was being billed as the first NCAA outdoor hoops game or something. Pat was polite but her players were rude and bitchy and dismissive when i wished them good luck in the game. It was the last time I wished them luck and I have vigoriously cheered against them every time I have seen them play but it didn't work until last year! I really wanted to meet and beat them last year but they got beat first.
I found a news story about Bonnie Samuelson. It mentions that she is best buds with Kelsey Harris.
