An AD change saved her this year (24-25). She probably would have been gone if the previous AD had stuck around.
They play #9 NC State on Sunday at 2:00. "Neutral" court in Charlotte, NC. On ESPN if you want to take a peek at them and not going to our game. I 'll maybe be doing a duel watch with one on my laptop and another on da big screen.
Iowa is in the 2nd game from Charlotte vs Virginia Tech on ESPN2 at 4:30. Good chance to "scout" the new Clark-less Hawk squad versus a high quality opponent (VT had 25 wins last year). I am quit curious to see their new post and maybe get some sort of take on how she might match up with Ms. Crooks.
Right there with you. I’ve been saying all along that Iowa is going to be tough when we face them…and will get tougher as the year progresses. Likely a Sweet Sixteen team by years end.
Virginia Tech is picked 12th in the ACC this year. They brought back three players from last year's team who, between the three of them, averaged less than 10 ppg. The rest are freshmen or transfers who came in with the new coach. High quality opponent might be a bit of a stretch for VT this year.
Iowa's game at Drake will be a better test IMHO than this game.
I watched TCU play Houston Baptist last night and I fear people might be sleeping on the Frogs. They looked good, real good, and nobody has more experience than they do. Unlike past years, they appear to have quality depth, everywhere except possibly the post. If S. Prince can stay healthy, they're going to be in the thick of the conference title race. I really like the sophomore PG transfer from Oregon State - she's tall and a strong on-the-ball defender. Maddie Scheer didn't even play - possibly injured?
I also watched some of Montana at Gonzaga - I wonder if Yvonne Ejim even considered ISU? Izzy Zingaro didn't start for the Lady Griz but played relatively well - nine points on perfect shooting in around 20 minutes. Macy Donarski was 4-4 from the foul line.

Watched Iowa versus VT since it was on ESPN. Iowa bricked threes all game long as did VT but otherwise looked pretty good. Olsen did Olsen stuff. O'Grady looks to have beaten out the freshman post. She was 9-9 from the field.
It went from 41-38 Iowa halfway through third Q, to 71-52 final score.
Wonder what his salary will be? Some WNBA coaches make $1M while the league caps the team players budget at $1.4M for 12 players.
