WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

After those openers things get a bit more interesting for Iowa and ISU.
  • Iowa and #8 Virginia Tech on ESPN2 in North Carolina Thursday.
  • ISU at Drake on Sunday (and than not playing for a week and not a real game till Thanksgiving)
  • Iowa at UNI on Sunday.
  • Iowa plays Kansas State and Drake next week, both on FS1. Will tune in to see how Wildcats Ayoka Lee looks.

ISU @Drake should be interesting, I'll give the edge to Drake, but it will be a good experience for the youngsters.

KSU beat Iowa a year ago. The Virginia Tech game will be a really good measuring stick for Iowa early in the season.

Granted it's only one game but...she made a choice and I hope she's happy with it.
And I see that Feuerbach is back from being redshirted for injury last year for that team from the east. She failed to score. After transferring, in her Sophomore year she played 7 minutes per game less that he Freshman year at Iowa State and he scoring went down from 5.5 ppg to 3.4 ppg. So much for greener pastures.

Joens the Middle Child led OU in scoring with 19 pts and 6 rebounds in 19 minutes on 7-8 shooting and 4-5 from 3 in a win over Wichita State.

You-know-who went 0-2 with 1 rebound and 1 assist in 10 minutes for Baylor in an 85-53 win over Southern.
Maggie Espenmiller McGraw started for the Montana Lady Griz last night in a home loss to Gonzaga. MEM shot 3-7 from the field and 2-4 from three for eight points. I watched most of the second half - she looks healthy and happy.

Melvin Ejim’s little sister, Yvonne, was an “in the lane” monster, as in she owned it - ISU connection for both teams!

Whoops - a couple people beat me to the MEM update!

Nova Southeastern, featuring first-team all conference player Madison Frederick and grad transfer Morgan Kane, is picked to finish second (behind University of Tampa) in the Sunshine State Conference. They host the GSC / SSC Crossover Classic, with games on 11/10 (Noon EST) and 11/11 (Noon EST). Go Sharks - follow Fred and Morgan to a league title and a second straight NCAA appearance!

Big 12 games of interest.
  • Future member, #5 Utah, is at Waco to play Baylor next Tuesday night. On ESPN+. Curious about Baylor so hope to remember to tune in.
  • Oklahoma State travels to #20 Colorado on Sunday. Pac 12 TV so that's a no watchie for me.

FYI, looks like Donarski is having a rough shooting night for North Carolina. Can only see the box score but while she started, at half, she is 1-8 from the floor, 0-5 from 3, an assist, a steal and two personal fouls.

Scanning the games within the conference, I see several transfers within conference. Jaden Owen’s went from Baylor to TCU, Lexy Keys went from Okie State to Oklahoma, Chandler Prather went from Kansas to Okie State. I am also going to list Hannah Guster she started at Baylor, followed Mulky to LSU and is back in the conference at Okie State. We all know about Fritz. I haven’t seen the new teams to the conference or noticed anyone else yet.

Has hit three 3's at start of second half but picked up a third foul.

Class of 2020 Hannah Guster was ranked by ESPN at #16 and the #2 post. Thought, by those lofty numbers, she was going to be the next dominate big gal at Baylor to give us fits.
