Yeah, watched the second half and Amoore was hitting some crazy threes with Iowa keying defense on her. Was 7-14 from deep. Think VT looked very good.
Q: Was O'Grady hurt?
Feuerbach looks to be maybe fully back from her ACL. She had a big 3rd quarter and was on the floor during crunch time to try and seal the win.
She was on fire. Not sure about O'Grady. Stuelke had a nice game before fouling out. Our other big was called like 3 times for just being large apparently... the VT guards literally just ran into her and she'd get called for the foul. The older dude ref with the gray hair knew he was on TV, his calls were very visually dramatic.
Big 12 roundup for 11/11:
- West Virginia beats Pittsburgh 71-62
- Kansas State beats Little Rock 77-39
- Ayoka Lee had 32 pts and 10 rebounds
Ordinarily I won't care much about KSU's win over a cupcake but it did maybe show Lee is back for real. Game next Thursday versus Iowa could be a good one. Comeback Lee versus Iowa posts not named Czinano. The Wildcats upset Iowa last year without Lee. More than just another N/C game. Iowa will like to see how they match up versus a top post. KSU wants to see how Lee is versus P5 level. Iowa likely wants some payback for that loss last year. Count me in.
I’m laying odds it will be much like the last Iowa game…volume shooting from Clark for the win.
I'll be interested to see how Lee is running on defense. The Iowa posts can all run and I'd think they will be trying to beat her down the court. Defending versus Lee? Don't know, will be tough. Stuelke fouled out in 17 minutes versus VT and she isn't really sized to go head to head with Lee in the paint on defense. Would guess Goodman and O'Grady will see minutes.
Think it is going to take some time for Iowa to gel into this new lineup. They didn't shoot the three well in the VT game and are 22% for the season but they will obviously shoot better than that. They are retooling without Czinano and Warnock. These early season games are really fun but not the be all end all for seasons.

Nope. Not that Iowa isn't looking good but South Carolina thumped #10 ND and #14 Maryland to open their season by an average of 30 points this week.
Staley had her team fired up, SC just pistol whipped Maryland. That Iowa loss seems to have left a lasting impression on SC.
Iowa still has the best win and SC is ranked #6, highly doubt they'll jump #3 Iowa for the top spot.
