WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

New polls are out. I thought Iowa and Iowa State would swap spots and essentially they did.

Iowa State #15
Iowa #12
Baylor up to #18
Sooners drop to #19
Kansas drops to #23
Texas is not even among the "receiving votes". Woof!
North Carolina stays at #22

No Big 12 teams in the RV's at all.

Big Ten with three in Top 10 and 4 in Top 12.

I've thought since the start of the season that the top 5 could easily devour each other. It will be funny in a sense if it winds up in a 4 way tie. It's no longer the Big one and the little nine. The injury bug may be the deciding factor. Baylors Blackwell will probably be playing again soon but I seriously doubt she'll be the same. Her Injury may never completely heal this year if she continues to overdo it.. I haven't heard the status on Soares yet. That diagnosis will be vital to say the least. And poor old Texas (not) has been hit almost as severely as UConn. So back to my earlier prediction = winning on the road will likely determine the championship.

Well now we have the same team as last yr. No Soares I don't see us going past the sweet 16. Hope we do but will be surprised if it happens.

Less Beatrice Jordao - Big loss there also

Yep, Bea was good also. Maybe Izzy can step up. Mo is good at what she does but Soares gave us that extra dimension. Well let the season unfold and hope for the best.

Kane also can't give us 30 minutes a game. The downgrade from Soares to Kane isn't ideal, but it's the same as last season. The bigger problem (arguably) is we have nobody proven to take over the backup post spot Kane vacates when she moves over to starter.

Well Vick is6'2" maybe we can start giving her some run.

Texas improves to 3-1 beating #23 Kansas 72-59 in Austin tonight. Drops Kansas to 2-2 and probably out of the Top 25.

Tough schedule stretch for Kansas, Baylor last Saturday, at Texas tonight and at Oklahoma Saturday. Probably going 0-3 for those three.

Cowgirls win in Waco, 70-65.

OSU has beaten Texas and Baylor already.

Wow. That's a bad loss at home for Baylor. Any team wanting to make a serious run at the Big 12 top spot can't afford those kind of losses at home.

Flipped on TV for a minute before heading out and saw that Iowa is demolishing Penn State in IC at the half by 28 points. PSU is a NET 64 so not a tourney team but not hot garbage either, similar rank as Big 12 Kansas State's NET 61.

Edit: Watched a couple minutes of the 3rd. Dang, 12,000 attendance for this game, without students that are still on break. Mad Fran would kill for that sort of fan support.
