WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Here is what I don't get. If you recruit players and they never get to see the floor against these cupcake teams and it is just a one woman show, what makes you want to stay with that team? Or makes you want to even go to that school?

Lisa, I would ask Geno about what happens when you leave in your star too long. Who knows what kind of Paige will come back after rehab? Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

To be fair they only dressed 7 this evening. But if she played in the last 5 minutes I would say it was unnecessary.

As you said, due to injuries, Iowa only had 7 players available tonight. All 7 played copiously. Clark achieved her triple double after playing 29 minutes and only played 31 total minutes. She and Czinano did not play the last 5 minutes.

Why don't officials enforce the coaching box? Watching the TU BU women's game and as Baylor is inbounding the ball against the Texas press at the Texas bench end, the Texas coach in on the floor! Shouldn't that be a technical?

This has been an issue for the last few years. A number of coaches in the league spend most of the game either on the floor or right on the line. What is frustrating is to see a ref motion for a teams players to sit down after jumping up to celebrate a play ( and not even being on the floor) but allow coaches on the floor during play. If you watch coach he sits most of the time.

Baylor and Texas playing again right now on ESPN2. This one's in Austin. Real barn burner so far: under 5 media timeout in the 1st and Baylor leads 6-3. I'm not sure whose loss would benefit us more. UT loss would knock them down to 5-5. BU loss would put them 2 behind ISU in the loss column.

End of 1st. Baylor up 10-8.

Hope this keeps up...Texas over Baylor at the half 26-18. Since Baylor gave Texas its 4th loss in Friday I hope Texas gives Baylor their 4th today! Want the separation!

Anyone else watching the BU/UT game? Refs just reversed a foul called on a charge against Baylor & gave it to Audrey Warren who wasn't even guarding the BU player...??

They reviewed the play after the BU coach complained.. Never saw anything that crazy.

What bothered me is that they said that Smith shot before the whistle blew on that block charge call so they counted the basket. And the whistle probably did blow after the ball left her hands because of the natural delayed reaction by the official. But the FOUL clearly occurred before the ball left Smiths hand. So they review the one but not the other? Turned out to be four points by Baylor.

I get that, but the charge had
been called on Smith. After the review they assessed the foul to Warren. Warren wasn't even guarding Smith. She was on the other side of the lane guarding someone else.

Don't recall a foul ever being taken away....
The foul was originally called on Sarah Andrews for a charge. She was passing to N. Smith, who made the basket. Upon review, Warren was in the restricted circle and the foul was reversed on her, but the basket counted as the ball had left Smith's hands prior to the call.

Man Texas needs to make free throws!

Warren was inside the restricted area so it was the correct call.

Notable Big 12 games this week:

Wednesday - KSU (7-4) at BU (7-3)
Saturday - OU (9-2) at UT (5-5); KSU (7-4) at KU (6-4)

5 losses for Texas pretty much eliminates any chance Texas had for the top spot. :)
I was in a quandary as to who to pull for, but ended up with BU because we stIll get a home rematch with them. This week, hopefully KSU takes down the Bears and OU gets beaten by the Horns (I think I just threw up in my mouth). Interesting and exciting matchups ahead!
