WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Yep - what a show Clark put on.

Yep, great player, down by 5 late though she throws up a 36ft air ball. Use youu team at that time might have been a one possession game. Next time down the court, another air ball, next time Iowa misses she dies not foul as it would have been her 5th. Great player, all me, me, me. Would not want her on my team.

Bluder should have gotten a T for that. Class-free.

These announcers just drooling all over themselves about Clark and how she scored a billion points in 2 minutes or whatever. Well, yeah - they had, what, four straight possessions where no other hok touched the ball at the end. Granted, she made the threes she chucked up during that run. #BallHog Imagine what she could do on a team with more talent and a decent coach.
She leads the nation in assists per game by almost a full APG.

I would love to know how many of those assist come in the 4th quarter. She is me, me, me in the last 5 minutes, She has talent, great player, but in crunch time it is give to Clark and watch. Great against lesser teams, not so much against better teams.

Clark is an interesting case of a great player who still might hurt her team. Last night my jaw was on the floor watching her hit threes from nearly half court with ease. But watching her teammates was like watching an early Carlton team for ISU. Standing and watching. Not expecting the ball. Clark does dish assists…and surprisingly she manages to dish in games where she has scored a bunch of points. would be interesting to analyze who those go to…if I were to guess it would be to Czinano.

According to ESPN play by play, she had 3 in the 4th quarter.

On another subject, I saw that that at Oklahoma's overtime victory over West Virginia that their paid attendance was 2,400. Your team is at the top of the league standings and that is the interest you get from your fans?

I can never quite understand why the Cyclones with our team support cannot get more top players who want to play in front of them instead of playing in the empty barns on other campuses.

Have you considered that Emily Ryan might be a Cyclone because she did not want to play in front of 2,500 fans? She saw many K-State games in high school and her parents were sporting a K-State plate on the front of their minivan.

Not sure how I missed UConn throttling Tennessee on Sunday. Might have to pop up a replay. Haven't paid them much attention after Page Bueckers got hurt. Was sort of a coming out party for their star recruit Azzi Fudd who missed the first half of the season with a foot injury. Even so, didn't see that one coming for a Top 10 and old rivals matchup. They are still talking Bueckers coming back to play this year which I have a had time imagining with that injury and surgery. Not like I don't believe it, more just a bit amazed.

And once again, Clark would have scored more points if it weren't for those darn officials.

The 46 points were a Crisler Center record; Iowa coach Lisa Bluder thought the total should've been higher based on non-foul calls against her star point guard.

“I’m telling you, she got mugged going to the rim a lot,” Bluder said. “I’m just disappointed she didn’t get 50."

How many times does she get to openly criticize the officials without any repercussions? Obviously, the Big 10 just looks the other way. Can you imagine if CBF did this? The Big 12 would come down on him in an instant.

I was at the game. Very sluggish start by both teams, but UConn's defense is so flipping good. They are starting to click and IF they get Bueckers back yikes. They could be a very underseeded team come March. And by that they could be a 2 or 3 when in reality with all their pieces are easily a 1. Just hope we don't draw the 2 or 3 in their bracket thus seeing them in the Sweet 16.

As for Paige, I am no doctor, but she was walking very well with the brace she had on. She still has over a month here, so it will be interesting to see if she comes back in time and how rusty she would be.

poor Vic. Poor, poor Vic.
Coach Schaefer will need a Maalox drip with a 5-5 BIG 12 record at impatient, insatiable Texas. Two-Time National Coach of the Year was given big money to win and in his second season is doing well by reasonable expectations. However, losing twice to Okie, and now having a limited chance at the regular season crown, has got to crank up the GERD.

Ok…we've all had our word about Clark. Imagine what she could be like playing for ISU AND being a part of the family like others here are. Having another weapon of her caliber would be amazing…especially if she bought into the culture.

That is the big question. I don't think she would ever have bought in. She was the star in high school and LB has crowned her queen of the hawks and that is what she wants, the spot light only on her.
