WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Flipped past the LSU-Kentucky women's bb game. Why does Kim always dress like a performer at the Grand Ol' Oprey? Tries to out do Porter Wagoner, it seems.

Ohio State wins! I do not know the protocol at Iowa but the two teams did not do the shaking of hands line. Bluder was pissed!

Clark had a great game but several time she raised her arms and flexed her fingers in a "Hey! Look at me! Give me some applause! I need recognition!" type of gesture. She also had some turnovers that turned the tide for OSU.

Think they are using the pandemic to avoid doing this. I thought it was just a butt hurt rivalry thing when they skipped it against us but they are doing that to everyone they play.

The entire Big 10 conference agreed to forgo the handshake line this season. (And last season too of course.)

Once again when Iowa loses, it's the official's fault.

"Obviously disappointed in this loss," Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said. "We had a lead in the last four or five minutes and gave it up. Ohio State's a great team and a very physical team. I don't know, it's like you quit calling fouls after a while.

"And it gets frustrating because the screens we saw tonight, I didn't think I'd be able to field a team after this game. It was that bad. That many kids were taken to the ground, slammed on screens. I've never seen anything like it before, but they made more threes than we did."

"I thought (McKenna) got taken to the ground," Bluder said. "I thought she completely got mugged and should've been shooting two free throws. She couldn't have done it though because she got slammed to the ground so hard. Somebody else would've had to shoot the free throws, but I think we could've made them.

"We'll never know."

"I've got to give a lot of credit to Gabbie (Marshall), Kate (Martin,) Kylie (Feuerbach), Tomi (Taiwo)," Clark said. "I'm not guarding the best player every single night — they are — and that's what made us go. I feel bad for them. They got hammered all night long. They were in pain.

For the record, Ohio State was called for 20 fouls and Iowa 14. Iowa shot 15 free throws, Ohio State shot 8 free throws. Iowa outscored Ohio State at the line 10 to 5. Iowa had one foul in the 4th quarter with under a minute to play. They fouled 4 times under 25 seconds to send Ohio State to the line.

Who wrote that article? It reads like a HS Freshman's first try at writing a sports article.

I noticed Clark using her chicken wing to get space like usual. And of course that is never called a charge.

According to Bluder they never foul but get fouled all the time and those fouls don't get called. She works the officials from the start to finish of a game and watch their players anytime they get called for a foul. They give officials a stare and many times throw their arms up like "look I did nothing to get the call". I do not understand why officials today don't walk away from coaches (Bluder is not the only one) who are constantly talking to them.

The player she is saying got slammed to the ground fell to the ground reaching for the ball. It amazing what you will see through their black and gold glasses.

Iowa is what their coach is…a bunch of whiners. I also noticed Clark being a hot dog after some amazing shots. No humility there at all. She’s a tremendous athlete, but I wouldn’t want her on our team unless she could rein the attitude in. Makes me continue to be so glad we have Coach Fen.
We were saying last night after enjoying the end of the Iowa/Ohio State game that we're not missing much by Clark having not chosen to play at ISU. With her attitude, I don't think she'd fit in here. I have no idea if she was this bad in high school or if it's just a product of Frau Bluder's "teachings." I suspect it's a bit of both, but whatever. They can have her.

Watching the Oklahoma at Baylor game on our Roku tonight. Baylor up 58-55, 2:40 in the 3rd. The color guy is like listening to Foghorn Leghorn. Dude, spit some marbles out of your mouth before you try to talk.

There's maybe 1000 people at the game because, get this, it's raining and "cold" (38 in Waco when I checked). Yeah it's cold for Texas, but seriously? I guess it was icy farther north, but not there. <shrug>
