I would assume TCU & TT will be quite active in the portal along with Baylor maybe? Baylor's fans interest dropped pretty hard after Mulkey left.

Why does everyone so much faith in Mittie? He's pretty much just Bill but with worse results. They have like the same number of losses, but Mittie has 130 less wins.

And Schneider is even worse! He seemly can get recruits, but he has a losing record at Kansas.

What are they seeing?

I think they are just going off of the recruiting class ranks, at least for Kansas. Still, until the dust settles on portal transfers, any "way to early" list should be titled Way to Stupid To Publish Top 25.

Something for the whataboutism crowd. "Oh, look, a school that is in even worse shape!" Patheticsburg was 1-17 in conference and the worst P4 team in the country by around 100 NET positions. They should maybe drop WBB.

Texas lost Aaliyah Crump and Justice Carlton (#7 in 2024) today to the portal from a Final Four team. Guess not everyone wants to play for Vic, even when they were both starters.
And another, Aaliyah Moore.

I think we can see the portal and NIL and chasing dollars is very real in Women's Basketball. Many quality Starters on good teams are entering. If you are a underclassmen and a starter at Texas and you enter the portal can it be something other than money?

Article on a player from Colorado (Desiree Wooten) entering the portal.

A source familiar with the situation told Colorado Buffaloes On SI that Wooten's primary reason for transferring was financial. The redshirt junior was an All-Big 12 honorable mention while averaging a team-high 13.4 points per game.

This is the biggest part of the problem. Habitual transfer portal players. They're the ones making a joke of this whole thing. Give them 1 transfer for their 4 years of eligibility and that's it.
1 free transfer, 1 hardship (coach/assistant leaves, conference re-alignment, medical). 5 years to play 4. No super Super Seniors.

Agree on all, but some have mentioned that the hardship exemption for a second transfer could be a slippery slope, especially with medical hardships, the NCAA often finds a way to fuk that up and be wildly inconsistent with its determinations.

IMO if you allow a coach leaving to be a reason to transfer and limit transfers to 1 year, you open the door for teams to not be able to find enough players to backfill. Like the number of transfers to pick from would go way down, but a team like ISU would still lose its entire team.
