I watched it. And I'm no Dawn Staley fan. They were both whining. But when you lose you lose and Geno just showed the world what an arrogant pr*ck he is by refusing to shake her hand after losing.
I watched both games last night. The officiating, as is the norm in WBB, was atrocious. It may as well have been a WWE contest. And to have one of the, supposedly best, officials on the announcing team saying there weren’t missed calls made it worse.
Staley likes to escalate everything. Remember when Bluder said pregame that Iowa’s game with them would be like “a bar fight” and Dawn turned it into some kind of racial attack? “We’re not monkeys!” she shouted.
Give me a break.

It’s pretty likely that TCU will be in the initial top 25, but jeeze our league is really suffering.
Missed the game but gotta feel good for Gianna Kneepkens. Unheralded MN HS recruit that blossomed at Utah. That transfer to UCLA worked out well for her.
Yeah…in the NIL area rosters will be changing and it’s likely TCU buys another team.
Big 12 WBB might end up like Big East WBB but without the perennial Final Four team.
Big 12 schools, or at least many of them, will figure out ways to try and keep some level of competing in football and MBB, because that is where the revenue is coming from. However, the reality of the media deals is going to make it harder and harder to not just punt on the other sports.
For anyone interested, Tennessee in FY 2024 spent $11 Million on WBB and made nearly $4 million. So they lose $ 7 Million a year. Source
We spent $6 million and made ~$1.5 Million. Tennessee appears to leverage parking passes, higher ticket prices and WBB specific royalties to make a lot of the difference. We both spend about 5% of the operating budget specifically on WBB.

And as of this morning, they reportedly have zero players.
Unbelievable what has happened to women’s basketball. Probably worse than any of the other sports.
