Since I’m now a MN resident, I have to pay attention to the Gophers. The Gopher women are #9 in the NCAA NET Rankings yet just entered the AP Poll today at #23, with Coaches Poll due shortly. They’ve won 8 straight, including a roadie in CHA. Why are the pollsters so slow in recognizing Minnesota? Two big games in the Barn this week versus OSU and MSU…. Go Go Gophers!
Minnesota only has one bad loss and that was to Kansas. They only have a couple of good resume wins. The next couple of weeks will determine how strong their resume actually is.
Poll inertia. Now that they are in, it'll be easier for them to climb up.
Tech is thumping Baylor by 20 points heading into the 4th quarter.
TCU is, of course, blasting Houston and will stay in 1st place.
TT will take over 2nd place, they have the tiebreaker over Baylor going 2-0 against them and have a win over West Virginia.

It seems pretty unlikely for us to get the #4 seed in the Big 12 tournament. Looking at Mred's standing calculator it seems almost impossible due to Colorado, WVU, and Baylor having the head-to-head on us.
For practical purposes, you are right. On the flip side, I found scenario where we actually get the #2 seed:

As ugly as the game was…that CU loss isn’t looking quite as bad as it did
Pretty big win for Iowa in thumping #6 Michigan and holding them to 44 points. Michigan gave UConn their own really close game of the year so it's not like Wolverine suck on the road. Pretty much ices Iowa hosting in March and maybe pops them up to #10 or so again. Only home loss was to Gophers who had a crazy hot shooting game. Not that it was a fluke win, Gophers are top 5 in league play in both offense and defense.
Hawks were at the bottom of the Big 10 in defense Clark's freshman and sophomore year and relied on just outscoring opponents. They have incrementally improved each year since then.

It was pretty ugly early. Both teams playing tight and very aggressive D. It was close most of the way, Iowa only pulled away and created real separation in the 4th. Ava H. started pretty rough but completely took over in the 2nd half. Very gritty win against a good, tough defensive Michigan team.
