WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

It was pretty ugly early. Both teams playing tight and very aggressive D. It was close most of the way, Iowa only pulled away and created real separation in the 4th. Ava H. started pretty rough but completely took over in the 2nd half. Very gritty win against a good, tough defensive Michigan team.
Ugly is being kind … 45 made shots to 42 turnovers.

Another head-scratcher in the Big 12 -- Utah wins at Colorado, 67-64.

Gonna be a dogfight for the Top 4 (double bye) and the Top 8 (single bye).

Why is Tennessee the tourney at 16-12. Not even on the bubble? They probably lose to Vandy in the last regular game to go 16-13. Lose their first round SEC game and it might be Kentucky so it can happen they end 16-14 and on a 7 or 8 game losing streak. Why do they belong in the Tourney, best win over Kentucky at Home. I do not think any other ranked wins.

Tennessee now 16-13 with today's loss. Why should they get a bid?

"Overall, there are seven teams from the Big Ten, five from the SEC, two from the ACC, one from the Big 12 and one from the Big East in this top 16. In addition, all four of the No. 4 seeds in each region are from the Big Ten." - ESPN

Cause tied for 6th in the SEC and the SEC will get 9 or 10 teams in.
You look at the SEC standings and just off rated teams alone you have:
South Carolina,
Vandy
Texas
LSU
OU
Georgia
Kentucky
Ole Miss
Alabama

Hard to imagine Tennessee will beat any of those teams out of a spot. But who knows where the love will spread. Going 2-9 down the stretch doesn't look good.

And yet...creme has Tennessee as a SEVEN seed? That's insane.

Great but should we not expect wins to warrant the bid. Playing the tough teams should not be all you need to do, win some also and really look at the wins, only 1 or 2 good ones. Many blow out losses on that schedule also.

Who do you elevate to take their spot? Losses in their streak include losses to #4, #5, #6, #11 and #17. Their NET is still #21 which seems high but not too far off of Creme's and their AP poll ranking before last week. Dropping to an #8 might be the crystal ball forecast since Creme has not updated since the 27th and will likely shuffle things based on the latest "Sixteen Reveal". He has 11 SEC teams in as of last week. If you take just those .500 and better it's still 9.

Oklahoma is 11-5 in league and ranked #7 in the country.
