WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

i said something the other day to friends about Clark pushing off. They claimed it’s called protecting the ball and legal. I laughed.
It's so bad. I really paid attention to it during the Big Ten Tournament, and it's just insane what she gets away with. Beyond talented yes, but my God she would be a VERY different player if officiated correctly.

NM, just saw it was over.

Imagine watching your favorite team play in a conference tournament championship game, and posting on your rivals site?

She had a flagrant against Hillary but they never reviewed. Was a push off that became a punch to the head.

Maybe two exceptions to P6 tournaments not really having a much impact to NCAA March Madness and both happened this afternoon. Previously ranked Kentucky (#13 pre-season) and starting 2-6 in the SEC has reeled off 9 straight wins. That's hella better than just a tournament streak but the SEC tourney play sort of put icing on it. The season end and SEC run actually will make a big diff to them.

Same for Indiana. Covid interrupted and Big 10 losing streak put them in doubt for seeding. Pretty much answered the bell the last four days.

Neither of these were flukes so not like some bubble team played themselves into a good seed or something but still some impact. I mean both were in so not like that bubble busting but Indiana likely preserved their node to host and Kentucky should move up a seed or two IMHO.

Kinda half watched the Iowa/Indiana game, lot of snow shoveling** in the north land today so I might have been chair napping some after my workout.

Clark had a rather pedestrian game for her. Her biggest play might have been a big block she had in the last couple minutes to help stymie a Hoosier last minute rally back.

Czinano was player of the game by a long shot with her 30 points. I've noted before I don't think she's a good defender (at all) and is a bad rebounder for her size but she grabbed 10 boards and had no turnovers. And did most of that without the usual assist feeds form Clark, so a pretty outstanding effort from her.

** Shoveling, not snow blowing so earned that nap. ;)

Wondering if they will send Missouri and Missouri State to the games in Iowa again like they did a few years ago?

Don't think either ISU or Iowa needs the minimal attendance bump that would provide. Both schools are doing great on attendance with record level crowds at both of their title determining home games. Like 29K for those two games.

Isn't this topic for non-Cyclone discussions? The-boneyard.com has the best womens basketball forum in the nation; all non-UConn threads: https://the-boneyard.com/forums/general-womens-basketball.83/. They invite other teams' fans to visit and discuss.

What made me laugh is that basically 4 teams tied for first, that is why I used four teams. If you don’t stop there, it becomes majorly subjective of when to stop. I figured an easy place to stop was who tied for the top.
So you're saying it doesn't make sense to include Indiana when discussing the top Big Ten teams when Indiana:

a. just knocked off 4-seed Maryland in the conference tournament
b. then knocked off 1-seed Ohio State
c. have the 3rd best NET in the conference (as of me posting this)
d. are ranked 15th in the AP Poll
e. are a projected 4-seed in the NCAA tournament

Yup, that makes sense.
