It just seems like yesterday that her team upset us with Carleton, Nezerwa and Middleton as seniors.
Seems the job has taken quite a toll on her. You could see the exhaustion on her face
The look on her face in the SEC tourney game against SC was tough to see. You could tell she felt like they did everything they could to win and still got beat on a last second shot by Cardoso. Seemed like she had them playing well but I'm sure Tennessee has exceptionally high standards.

Wonder if knowing Harper is available might make them make a move with hopes of hiring her. Not like she doesn't know Missouri or the SEC. Assuming Harper would even be interested.

They will never get back to Pat S days of winning titles. They will regret this decision IMO.

SC, LSU and Texas will all look like Final Four contenders next year so Volunteers being better than 4th would be a pretty high goal. They certainly aren't winning the SEC. Texas gets Harmon back and is adding two Top 10 HS recruits. Who the heck knows who Mulkey might get to transfer in if she makes the Final Four again.

Harper at TN reminds me of Collen at Baylor. Sometimes you have to wait a bit longer following a legendary coach for the new one to get rolling. Obviously she'd done fine, but not up to their astronomic expectations.

They actually had Holly Warlick for 7 seasons and she did OK with Pat's players and did quite well after that but never reached the heights of Summit. She went to 2 Elite 8 and 1 Sweet 16 in her first 3 seasons, winning 3 conf titles and 2 conf tourneys during the period. After that, it went downhill, elite 8 in 2015/16 and couple of first and second rounds in NCAA but their highest position was the 4th (she finished t-7th, 5th, T-4th and t-8th) in the last 4 seasons

Never liked Tennessee much but that was solidified after riding down the elevator with part of their team in 2000. Was at the Insight Bowl and got on the elevator at the ISU team hotel with a couple of ISU alumni association and athletic department staff. Already in the elevator was part of the Tennessee WBB team. They were dressed for their game that evening, outdoor stadium game versus Arizona State. They DID NOT like us getting on the elevator even though there was plenty of room. They were quite rude and dismissive, maybe the best description would be snotty little brats. Been on the "lose Volunteers lose" bandwagon ever since. The older team staffer carrying a yuge stack of towels looked to be a bit embarrassed but you could tell where she stood in the pecking order as just a minion as she sort of cowered in the corner looking a bit intimidated by the players. #prima_donnas

Harper has been fired from two Power 5 schools (NC State), kind of hard to see her going back to that level. She has good success at Western Carolina and Missouri State.

LOL. Of course she announces via Vogue.

Will be interesting to see how her game translates at the next level. She has good size, but not crazy size. Her entire game is about being physical and out-muscling her opponents on the boards, on D, with her post offense. That's going to get a lot tougher to do in the WNBA. She doesn't have an outside shot, she's not really a slasher. I think she might struggle for a while, especially if she comes in wearing that crown.

Yep, she better develop an outside shot or she's going to be eating a lot basketballs.
