Updated with the weekend game. Notes:
  • With 5 points, Emily passed Frese for #12 in career scoring. She's now at 1495, so there's a good chance she'll pass 1500 @ KSU and we'll have a ceremony for the accomplishment at home against TCU.
  • Emily is 82 assists from 1000. ISU has 9 regular season games left, so that's 11 guaranteed games assuming we play in a postseason tournament. Here's the remaining apg needed to hit 1000 based on remaining games played:
    • 11 games: 7.45 apg
    • 12 games: 6.83 apg
    • 13 games: 6.31 apg (she's averaging 6.48 apg on the season)
    • 14 games: 5.86 apg

If ISU gets a few postseason wins, Audi could make a dent in the Big 12 single-season scoring record book. Current top-10 single season performances in the Big 12:

Griner's 852 is the sophomore record, which isn't out of reach if ISU has a very successful postseason.

When you look at those season averages of Ashley Joens it’s mind blowing just how dominant she was.

Looking over the past 6-8 games for Ryan shows no productivity drop off at all..even with Brown dishing a bunch of assists. Since the West Virginia game she's averaging 6.3 apg. Those numbers would indicate we need a decent run in the conference tournament and 1-2 in the dance. Will also be skewed if she sees limited minutes in the Houston or UCF games. The other side of that coin is she could dish a bunch of assists on short minutes against bad teams.

She's #2 on the junior list (48.5% to Laurie Decker's 48.7%) and #6 overall across all classes. She's still #1 in career percentage, and Kelsey Joens has moved up to #6 on that career % list.

Non-sophomore class rankings:
Freshman: none
Junior: Sydney Harris #2 in 3pt%
Senior: Emily Ryan #6 in assists per game and #5 in total assists. She needs 44 assists to catch Lyndsey on that latter record, which is only two fewer than the number she needs to hit 1000 for her career.

Ashley was a phenomenal all around player. It isn’t fair to compare Kelsey to her just because she’s her sister, and she is not as tall either, but with her development this year and improvement in her defense, I find myself hoping she can improve her ball handling skills, similar to Ashley. With injuries always, would be nice to use her a little at point.
