How did I miss this last night? I must not have been on twitter.

This is great news, and it likely wraps up high school class of 2021 recruiting for ISU. I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up a juco or grad transfer later (no specific recruits in mind -- just a general thought).

Fritz is a 5'11" wing capable of playing all over the court. She's consistently been a 40%+ three-point shooter in high school.

Scooping @mred is a highlight of 2020 for sure :)

Here are some potential transfers we might be looking at. Not enough certainty on any of them to add to the list in the original post.

Carlie Littlefield -- 5'9" senior guard at Princeton (originally from Waukee). 2x first team all Ivy. One year of eligibility remaining. Not playing this year (no Ivy League basketball this season).

McKenna Dale -- 6'0" senior guard at Brown (originally from CT). Two years of eligibility remaining (she had an injury redshirt two years ago). Not playing this year (no Ivy League basketball this season).

Keeli Burton-Oliver -- 6'3" freshman forward at Arizona State (originally from WA). Apparently redshirting this year due to a preexisting medical issue.

Nyah Green -- 6'1" redshirt freshman guard at Louisville (originally from TX). Five-star recruit.

Thanks for this info, but don't we have enough guards?

Where do you see they are transferring or are these just potential transfers who might be unhappy and enter the portal?

I would think an experienced senior transfer post from somewhere that was even a moderately serviceable post for Big 12 play would be huge in helping the freshman posts out next year.

The solution, might be against the rules though.

According to various sources online, they are all in the portal. And they all have social media accounts being followed by at least one ISU coach.

The portal might be extra busy this season with extra year seniors possibly looking at grad school tuition somewhere.

Denae Fritz, apparently trying to prove she'll fit in with the team next season, had 17 points and five threes IN THE FIRST QUARTER of tonight's game.
Here's a game story: https://www.thedailytimes.com/sport...cle_3aab0b8a-bb55-5066-804a-4a6a986c98d0.html

And a video with highlights (Fritz is #23 in black): https://www.knoxnews.com/videos/spo...-state-high-school-knoxville-2021/6649930002/

Notable in the article: Farragut has 2022 Avery "Ace" Strickland, who we had some interest in but recently verballed WVU. She scored 7 points against the Maryville zone in the first 3 1/2 minutes of the game. Maryville switched to a man defense with Fritz on Strickland, and Strickland had two points the rest of the game.

We have someone on the list for the first time since Fritz verballed: grad transfer Eva Hodgson from William and Mary, who recently entered the portal. She's a 5'9" guard who was CAA FOY in 2019 and CAA First Team in 2020 (leading the conference with 20.7 ppg). Last year she was the only player to shoot over 50% from the field, over 40% on threes, and over 90% on FT (she was 54/43/91).

She is sitting out this season due to COVID concerns. She's graduating in three years, so she has two seasons of eligibility remaining and will be immediately eligible this fall.

What do you make of them offering a guard? It seems like that’s a fairly stacked position already.

Ryan, Donarski, Maggie, Aubrey, Kylie. Doesn’t seem like there’s a ton of minutes available.

Eva Hodgson looks like Coach Fen type of player. If she's really good, by all means, bring her in. Although we are stacked with guards, we really need depth in the point guard position. Right now Emily and Rae are the only true point guards on the team (Lexi IMO is more suited to play as a shooting guard). After Rae graduates, we need another playmaker who can back up Emily. We also need a player who has a scoring mentality or a more aggressive playstyle. She seems to be a playmaker who's not shy away from making plays and taking shots in the key moments.

Here's her sophomore year's highlights I found on YouTube,

and her interview.

By the way mred, do you have any insider information that the coaching staff is actively looking for a transfer post player? This team badly needs an experienced Power 5 caliber post player. I sure hope both freshman posts would eventually develop into Big12 level rotation players but the reality is that it takes time for them to grow especially for the bigs. If we can get a transfer post, next year's team's ceiling is going to be much higher.

I don't have any inside info, but I assume they are looking at all reasonable transfer post possibilities. One season from an experienced grad transfer or two years from a good juco would be excellent.
