I have a cheap solution that has worked really well for me. I fill one of those 2 gallon plastic pump sprayers with water and Dawn dish soap. Knocks the wasps right out of the air and watch them die on the ground. I've also sprayed their nests with this. Way less expensive than wasp spray.

This fell into my Twitter feed for some reason so had to share it.

Kill it with gasoline but no fire.

I have two small stained glass windows in my kitchen/eating area, with clear glass on the inside. A couple days ago my wife noticed a wasp nest between the planes of glass. There must be a small hole on the outside they found. Haven't figured out how I'm going to deal with them yet.

Try the gasoline process with a match first. If not successful...move. 1688851899312.png

After golf size hail I went up on the roof with a roof guy. And had to retreat because of the hoard of wasps at my chimney. Have a gas fireplace insert in an old brick fireplace with an intake and exhaust pipe run up the old chimney. They got under the steel cap and must have a big nest in there. Turned on the fireplace to try and "cook" them. Did smell bad first 20 minutes or so. And the next day they are still there. More "cook" time and a little spraying from the top of the ladder. Will have to check again. Might have to have it inspected to make sure the nest was along the sides in the old chimney and not inside the insert pipes.

Damn things are in my bath exhaust vent, attic louvers and even started to build in the ladder rungs of the ladder I left up for a couple of day.

Burn your house down. No more wasps.

Wasp spray will repel them for several weeks. I have found several large nests around my house this year.
I tried so many 'supposed' wasp removal sprays. And then I discovered the easiest of all: dishwashing soap and water. Loaded the 'super soaker' up with that stuff and I could hit our 30 foot high eaves. They immediately left or died. And I read they don't rebuild in the same place. After three years, they're no longer around. Of course, I had to power wash the remains of the nest (the bulk of the nest disintegrated with the super soaker). It's effective, easy and clean.

Edit: 2 tbl dish soap in 2 1/2 foot super soaker, rest with water

Ours are in an out of the way area, so I will just wait until November then remove the nests myself, and burn them. They are definitely not a warm blooded animal.

We found a basketball-sized nest in a bush at the back of our yard a year ago. The exterminator sprayed it with something to paralyze/kill the wasps, knocked down and pulverized the nest, and then sprayed the whole area with something else. He said that any that were missed would come back, and the secondary treatment would continue to kill them for a few days. He also said the dead ones release pheromones that attract others (?), and it would take care of them too. No problems since then.

I have seemed to notice a lot more wasps an nests this year at my house. Is anyone else noticing this? I have tried to remove the nests as best I can (many of them are in the peaks of the roof of my 2 story house). I have used a telescoping power washer wand to knock them down, but it seems like they keep coming back in the same spots. Is there a way to prevent the wasps from building new nests in the same spot?
My wife has stuffed a medium sized regular paper bag with those plastic bags (bigger than a softball but smaller than a volley ball) and hung it with a string in my garage. Evidently it resembles a paper wasp nest and it has kept all the other wasps away. I was amazed but it works.
