Walking Dead

I get the feeling we are seeing the beginning of the end for Rick and his sanity. Remember when Shane shaved his head at the farm? It really showed that he was losing it. I got the same vibe when Rick was shaving his beard.

I saw it the other way. I thought it represented the return of Ricks humanity.

she misses her abusing husband so much? I don't think so... she is certainly playing a role right now.

The part in the preview last night when they talk about playing to your weakness, and showing Rick in a uniform. Drove home the point they have a different way of messing with new comers than the previous stops.

Could the "M" on the half zombies be in reference to the M in Monroe? maybe DB son does more outside the walls than Mom knows about or authorizes? is the conflict going to be what is really the nature of these people? And who is in charge? How does our group combine and weed out with these newcomers?

I'm sure a part of her misses her whack job husband - at least the parts that weren't the abusive asshat. Carol now is a much different person now than the submissive abusee she was then, but that doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't miss what few good times there were.

Or perhaps that's just what Rick wants the new community to think - that he's one step shy of turning bat-**** crazy. As keep said, play your role, and that role is your weakness.

This was a 100% acting job by Carol. She didn't even mention her daughter.

That's how I saw it too; he was letting go of some of the wild animal he had to be to survive out on the road. His ending line about taking Alexandria made me think that it may have been more for appearances than anything though. Everyone but Darryl seems to be playing along.

I certainly did. Knowing Marilyn Manson, I can only imagine. I'll have to say my favorite Talking Dead guest hands down was Conan O'Brien.

Manson was a train wreck right out of the gate.

My favorite was a short, rounded, black gal (I think she was on Community?)... Anyway, she was such a geek for the show that she had NOTEBOOKS full of information, really good questions, and really good interpretations. Sorry, but I don't know her name....I just thought she made great contributions.

She was awesome. I think they had her twice with CM Punk. They actually made a pretty good team.

Speaking of which, I will say that the guests in this week's Talking Dead episode were the most annoying they've ever had. Alanna Masterson was just kind of awkward and was always rudely interrupting the lady next to her. That dude from Veep also talked way to much. I would have been okay without both of them and just having the other lady on there. They were annoying the **** out of me.

It was like she was channeling Leah Remini from "the king of queens". I like when chris said "we have an on-line question for all of you, and then she looked at the other guests on the couch and motioned to them that the question was for all of them like they didn't understand. Yea, she was all around annoying. I think Manson was worse, but in different ways.

Doesn't change my statement. Just because it was a 100% acting job doesn't mean a part of her doesn't still miss her loser husband just a little bit.

Not saying you're wrong but when Carol made that statement that was the, "oh OK" moment for me when I realized she was putting on the big act.

Up until then I was trying to figure out why she was so timid when she was turning in her guns...and why she basically said in her interview that she was weak and the group had basically protected her and kept her alive to this point (I paraphrased)...

I figured she was just really happy/excited to be in Alexandria and that's why she was acting funny...but when she said she really missed her husband that's when it hit me that she was acting from the moment she entered the gates...

Rick shaving his beard was symbolizing (in a very heavy handed way) him coming back to society after living in the wilds for so long, not a descent into madness.

I'm not so sure about that.

I don't see them being perfect by any means, or everyone in the community being good. But I think they are better than most other groups we have encountered. Of course, you could say that about Woodbury too, most of them were good people, they just had a bad leader.

I got better vibes from the leader of this community. Guess we'll see - I haven't read the books so I am purely speculating.

I think the congress lady in charge is going to try to divide Michonne and Rick. She will be shown to be a huge manipulator. I think she is going to start culling out the "weaker" members and also sees Rick as a huge threat to her power.
I also think Rick, Carol, Daryl, and possibly Carl may be setting up something that the rest of the group isn't in on yet.
These are WAGs based on nothing.

I think you're right. Carl hasn't told anybody about the girl sneaking out yet. And I think it's the same girl he saw in the window of the house outside the gates as they arrived, so she's pretty shady in some way. I think each of these people, plus Michonne are skeptical on their own but haven't shared it between themselves.

She claimed to be an expert at reading people and wanted to be a professional poker player...I wonder if she's going to see through Carol's "bluff"...

bad leader = understatement in that case!

We don't have the whole story here yet on the townsfolk. I suspect that the general story - that the DC area was evacuated and really not hit that hard - may be correct-ish. The town was mostly self contained and the scavengers didn't have too hard of a time finding supplies nearby with minimal undead resistance.

I also suspect that the congresswoman is more or less telling the truth - she is trying to restart society. This may be an experiment on her part to see if their community can take in outsiders, and if the outsiders can be assimilated back into a society.

I think that the son - the scavenger leader - is not on the up and up. He seems to be the kind that leads from behind and uses his fellow scavengers as zombie bait.

This might be an interesting segment depending upon just how big the community is and what secrets they continue to keep.

It wouldn't make any sense to me as they brought them in, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

My guess is the divide will come with Daryl as its apparent he is having the most trouble adjusting, and Deanna won't feel he has a job or place in the community and want to exile him which will lead to lots of drama. Could be way off. We'll see.

That's my thought as well

i don't recall seeing Daryl that antsy in another other show... he has his moments... but it was clear in most any scene as he was pacing.
