I thought there was plenty of action. If there is a pointless zombie attack scene thrown into every episode the show will be really boring and predictable by Season Two. The zombie fight scenes will have much more meaning and be scarier if they happen inconsistently, and have a major impact when they happen (like last week's attack on the camp).
Exactly. The best way to write this show isnt 'zombie attack of the week'. Especially when you're doing a TV show, you have to have a lot more character and plot development, almost as if its a show about any other group of people, only their environment is different. Everything with Amy and Andrea was much more impactful since we know these characters.
It's not like there wasn't a lot of juicy stuff to sink your teeth into. What about Rick's partner thinking long and hard about shooting him in the woods?
Great episode I thought. I can not wait until next week...I've had tons of questions about the entire outbreak and how everything went down that I hope to have some anwsers to next week.
And Dale catching him doing it. It's stuff like this that makes this show great. I found this episode to be the weakest so far but it sets up the season finale well. Something tells me that the CDC dude is wrong. When Rick saw that helicopter in the second episode I think he did indeed see a helicopter.
On a side note; did you ever wonder why the dead aren't swarmed by flies all the time?

I wonder if someone who rather boneheadedly fried the last samples of zombie tissue might become inclined to use a handy, healthy person who shows up at his front door as a potential source of fresh zombie tissue?

To be fair; CDC guy probably had a lot to deal with recently and was losing touch a little bit. I like where you're going though. I won't surprised if he tries to **** them somehow.

If you watched the preview for next weeks episode you sort of get the vibe that test subject 19, the one whose tissues he ultimately destroyed, belonged to a loved one of CDC guy, his wife or something.

It looks like those writers barely played a role in this series at all. They were responsible for the first 2 episodes, and then the rest of the episodes, the writing had to be edited and changed.
That looks awesome. Can't wait for next week. Then the agony of waiting for season 2 to start.
