Walking Dead

When you guys watch, do you find yourself saying things like, If i were them I would...

This has become a huge discussion topic at work. First thing I would do is get some Kantana blades from an Oriental Sporting Goods Store. Has to be one in Atlanta. Then you gotta outfit your vehicles with some sort of protection... cow pusher or something. I am amazed these guys haven't "adjusted" their mechanicals for protection. And sleeping in tents, please, there is no way a tent stops a "geek".

And why don't they get armor. The damn zombie can't bite through metal!! At least on their arms.

As for facing the CDC burn or escaping... tough call. Depends on how good that wine was.

I love Game of Thrones, I've read through what is out of the book series twice, but sometimes I feel like HBO adds the sex scenes just for the sake of doing so. It does absolutely nothing for the show. Now it's not Spartacus pointless, but pointless nonetheless. I actually prefer stuff a little censored, causes people to be a little more creative.

Great call on Dexter and Mad Men. Showtime and AMC have really stepped up too. I have yet to see Breaking Bad and am waiting for a good winter weekend to catch up on the show, I hear its great. Cable TV is sooo much better than network TV for dramas (unless one is a big procedural fan, which I am definitely not).

I read the series twice too and am glad I didn't find them till last year as the wait for the next one would've been terrible. I think there will be a decent amount of sex scenes added to Game of Thrones that weren't on paper in the book, like you I hope HBO does a good job of it. I am sure there will be some scenes added to establish characterization from things that were stated in the book but not shown specifically (i.e. Tyrion loves whores, Theon is the biggest player in Winterfell, etc). These won't bother me as they make sense, cause on TV its better to show then tell. Yeah I just hope they don't add pointless ones in order to have a couple in every episode or whatever. Really alot of the sex scenes in the book are more depraved than sexy anyway. Though after seeing the actress who plays Dany I would be pretty happy with a few extra girl-on-girl scenes with her and her handmaidens. :yes:

Where would you be able to get real (not the for show ones you can buy at a military surplus store or comic shop) sword that everyone else wouldn't think of first?

Getting a decent machete or axe would be easy to do, since any hardware or military surplus store would have those, but it's not like there are hundreds, or even tens, of real katanas floating around the US

It's heavy and bulky, but during battle it could make sense. However, it would be nice to get some sort of light way kevlar sleeves.

Yeah... something that at least could prevent the stray bite from a zombie. Couldnt do much if you got pinned by a lot of them, but could keep most of the bites from random wandering zombies down.

Melee weapons would be useless against the horde though, especially axes. You'd bury one in a geek and it would take a little bit to wedge it back out. Any Melee weapons are only good against lone stragglers. And I'd take a bludgeoning type weapon, like a nice, heavy 5 or 6 pound sledge, because it wouldn't bite and get stuck in the zombies.

I haven't read this whole thread, since I haven't seen the finale yet and don't want spoilers, but I hope this hasn't been posted yet. Pretty cool:
