Vegas hotel suggestions

When I stayed in Vegas most recently in January I stayed at Paris which as far as location goes is pretty much smack in the middle of the strip. The hotel itself is pretty standard, but you have direct inside access to the walking mall that spans quite a ways. There are a couple of good restaurants in there and it's cool going to the top of the fake Eiffel Tower as it directly overlooks the Bellagio fountains.

The nicest hotels are going to be the Aria and Bellagio but those will be pricey. I wouldn't stay at the Stratosphere or Circus Circus unless you really enjoy walking A TON or spending money on a cab or Uber anytime you want to go to the strip.

Aria is a lot cheaper than Cosmo and not a whole lot different, would recommend both. Venetian/Palazzo are nice, but they try to hard to be fancy. Feels like old people fancy. NYNY is a dump, and Monte Carlo is just OK.

I would recommend Aria, it seems to be the best bang for the buck.

I stayed in Treasure Island when I was in Vegas for work a couple months ago. It was nice. Updated, clean and quiet. Plus it's right across The Strip from the Venetian, which has awesome restaurants and bars.

My friends and I booked our flight/hotel package to the Stratosphere hotel and it was crazy reasonable price-wise. Now, as far as the location and niceness, they are both fine but nothing special. Stratosphere is at the northern-most side of the new Las Vegas strip, but still easily within walking distance, just a bit longer walk than the MGM or Ceasar's Palace obviously. They have a full casino and sports-book, a rooftop pool that overlooks some of the strip, and the stratosphere tower that has a few attractions for you to do and has an awesome view of Vegas. They have updated half of the hotel rooms (at least that is where they were at when I was there a year and a half ago, could be further along now) and not sure if the price for those varies, which I'm sure it does. But, it isn't the nicest hotel in Vegas but totally worth it, in my mind, for the price I paid.

I would classify the walk to stratosphere as LONG - especially if you are walking back after a night out. But you can jump on the bus.

Stay at ARIA. Don't gamble at ARIA. walk over to Monte or NYNY and table minimums will be way more friendly. ARIA's casino is very nice, but thurs-sat it's pricey to play. Lobby bar has a beer pounding challenge. Drink a pint in < :07 and it's free, that'll be your friend. ARIA pool is very nice. You'll appreciate the scenery :)

Get the M rewards card (valid at all MGM properties) It's free and you'll get a discount on room rate. Put everything on your room/card. Always scan it at slots and tables. Might not benefit you this trip unless you spend a ton, but you'll get comp offers for your next trip.

You shouldn't have to pay for drinks if you're gambling. It's Vegas, so gamble, and don't pay for drinks. Even top shelf is typically free to players. Go to Walgreens when u get there and get a Texas fifth if whatever and a case of beer for your pregaming. Don't buy drinks anywhere if you don't have to.

Use Uber. Always

Don't go to a strip club. Vegas strip clubs are sketchy, and there's a million horror stories. They aren't the same as the clubs you're used to. Edit: just saw you're going with your wife. This portion may not have been necessary.

Check out the billagio fountains. It's pretty awesome.

Eat lunch at shake shack.

Thunder down under? Not the same as days of thunder.

Clubs are huge in Vegas. They're awesome, but you'll pay for it. Especially if you don't have bewbs.

Go down to Fremont St one night. It's a fun time and the people watching is amazing. cheap gambling.

I just planned your trip. You're welcome.

Yep.

IMO I would stay at Cosmo. It in my opinion is the nicest. Ive never stayed in a regular room, only the multi room suites but they are worth it. Plus you have a giant patio that over looks the fountains that everyone is crazy about. If you dont stay there, go aria. Also in the suites you get a bunch of stuff with your name on it which is cool.

Oh yeah, probably my other biggest word of advice is that when you go to Vegas, Uber needs to be your best friend. In fact, it might be one of the best things to ever happen to Vegas. Any $30 cab ride is pretty much an $8 Uber ride. The drivers and cars we had were amazing as well, not to mention they are everywhere and super convenient. Most of my vehicles ended up being free upgraded vehicles. In fact, unlike other trips, we said pretty much screw walking much anymore and took an Uber everywhere. Almost every drive was like $7 total to your credit card. Clean and easy. Truthfully, not even sure how those drivers make money off of how low the rates are.
They don't...please don't be a sleazeball and please tip these drivers in cash please if they get you to your destination in on e piece.
