They might have had to look at Campbell if they thought Lincoln wouldn't be available in a week. Of course if Lincoln took the job this morning there's no way he wasn't talking to them before that.

IMO it is the vanity of USC that no one can turn them down. They consider themselves the crown jewel. So if they offer, how can you refuse?

I think we need to have a "where are they now" 6-7 years down the road where all these teams that took the money and ran, ripped apart conferences, etc. how are they now?

I would like to see this with texas and OU.

You can do that now and see it's not worked out for anyone but perhaps A&M has stayed as a middle of the pack program. Everyone else is on the losing side of things. But hey, they have more money?

I think we all have goldfish memory every year during coaching searches. Very rarely is anything ever what it seems until the ink is dry.
Plus more than likely CMC probably wouldn't even start talking until after the reg season is over and our last game started only 48 hours ago. So I just can't see anything happening that fast for him. Riley's agent has probably been talking for a while now.
