The wife says too big.

My new speakers. Got these vintage Altec Lansing Model 19 speakers for cheap and removed and replaced all the beat up/broken wood veneer, stained them and put a few coats of polyurethane on them. I think they fill the space nicely and sound great.

For size reference, photo is next to a 65 inch TV.

What say you, CF? Too big? Not big enough? Adequate?

I love everything about them, but, aesthetically, I don't think they work well with your current TV stand. I'd be much more inclined to find a new media console that complements the speakers than ditch the speakers.
Would hanging the TV up on the wall be better? I thought about that as well.

I'll preface by saying who cares what anyone else thinks, if you two like it that's all that matters. My personal opinion would be if it's living room its too big, den/basement would be fine.

There lies the issue. I don't think she likes them. They're upstairs, so not a big deal as most visitors only see our downstairs living room. I spent a whole three weeks restoring them, so trying my hardest to make it work. Maybe they'll grow on her. She does like how they came out from the restoration.

That will just make me want to get bigger speakers to continue this game of oneupmanship between the TV and the speakers.
True, you should probably just get ahead of things now and get a bigger house

The media console is the problem, both color and style when next to the speakers. It doesn't look like it would be all that hard to build a unit that matches the squared off style of speakers and stain it to a close match. I would wall mount the tv, build a new console that is slightly narrower that the current one, is the same height as your current console so it matches the lower boxes of the speakers, and do open shelving that is built to be the correct size for records, your a/v equipment, and any other media you are storing in there.

This. I’m guessing portions, if not all, of that stand are veneered so restating probably isn’t an option. A basic squared off TV stand that integrates with the height of the speakers and color matched with the stain would look great.
