Timeout Entertainment Suggestions

Anything that doesn't involve scanning a QR code to access some trivia thing. Service already can be spotty in JTS then have thousands of people trying to hit a link from a QR code that you have about 30 seconds to pull up to even have a chance of playing the game doesn't seem to go too smooth.

Some college FB and BB facilities have invested in public WIFI so they can do more digital interactive promotions but I am guessing that is not high on the list at ISU right now when we have other financial issues to worry about in a couple years that are preventing us from doing some other much needed renovation projects.

Watching drunk college kids attempt feats of physical strength is always entertaining. Field goals, races, throwing footballs in buckets, etc.

I don’t know feasible it is (working with other schools), but I have vivid memories as a kid of the ISU cheer/mascot team “kidnapping” the opposing mascot and vice-versa and having hammy “fights.”

I'll second this, but they don't even need to be physical feats. If anyone is familiar with "Taskmaster" a British show, they have comedians doing random silly tasks. In the clip below contestants have to push a watermelon up a slide using only breadsticks.

Guess (make up the lyrics) the lyrics contest, use with non-well known songs, couple contestants pick the best lyric adaptation.

Subtitle the photo Caption put up on one break, proof responses, show photo with responses at later break.

Ha, unless I'm crazy and not remembering correctly, I swear it was a regular thing in the early 1990s for the ISU cheer gang to "kidnap" the opposing mascot and then ram their nuts on the goalpost!!

For the Iowa game, let's show support for our in-state visitors with our "Emulate an Iowa Quarterback Challenge"

Hell, make it a family event and invite the hillside kids onto the field to give it a shot.

I think a fun promotion would be to see who can get out to their car, drink a beer and get back to their seat quickest, since, you know, we can't have alcohol.

While not a timeout entertainment idea, is there any reason why there are no sponsors at the base of Jack Trice. I noticed them during the Ireland game telecast. See images below.

Just a guess--American football has a lot more people (bench players, staff, cheerleaders, etc.) all around the sidelines and behind the end zones than European sports (soccer, rugby) do, so it's probably more difficult to see those walls on a broadcast. Maybe companies would still sponsor to have logos there in Jack Trice, but I'm guessing those spots are a lot less valuable than in Europe, where they're more visible for the entirety of a soccer or rugby game.
