Enjoy!

I, too, believe this Iowa State has the potential to make the Big Xii Championship Game. So, I am glad that Oklahoma lost. The more times they lose the better it is for Iowa State! Either way, looking forward to being in Jack Trice Stadium this weekend. Let's Go State!

Great article, I also noticed how well the d line was in rotations. Glad you're optimistic on the deep center coverage, hopefully the tape does fix some of that.
But man, I didn't love the play calling today.
Maybe it was missing those o line guys or Milton being gone. Nothing to Shaw or Allen (unless I missed their status).

The biggest play of the game (there were two)

1) The last-second TD by TCU, bringing the score to 37-34
2) TCU deciding not to kick an extra-point nor attempt a 2-pt conversion with 0.00 time left (which they were allowed to)

The spread was ISU -2.5

the TD was huge for the bettors who took TCU to cover, thinking TCU was going to kick an extra point at a minimum

It probably sent a few wagers to drink heavily and kick their dog

I guess it is site dependent, but my betting site had TCU covering a -3.5 line.

Sucks to give up garbage TD the first two games. Not a factor in either game, but still sucks.

Tucker Robertson.

"Iowa State is playing eight deep from a primary three-man front.

This group is going to be a problem for every opponent it faces the rest of the season."

LOL.
Our sit back and PAW tent defense scheme is horrible. Easy to run against. Easy to pass against.

You can get sacks all day, but if on the next play they throw to a wide open receiver for 15 yds, what does it matter.

Wide open receivers. Same story as last games

I, too, thought BackAlley's extra-point miss would cost us the game. Good thing TCU missed that field goal early in the game. Six sacks! Breece Hall! Bring on the Sooners!

We did score 37 with over 200 yards rushing and our QB completing over 80% of his passes against a good secondary. All that with two starting OL out...

When Darrell Simmons committed to Iowa State, he was rated .7798 by 247, which is around #2500 nationally.

Simmons whiffed a few blocks which is expected for a young guy, but I was really impressed with him overall, think we got a good one there, has all the tools. Really pleased with his play yesterday.

Makes me wonder, if we need to go back to 4 linemen. We went to 3 because we needed to get the best players in the field, well now...it’s the opposite, we got really good linemen that could play more snaps.

I could see 4 for some situations, but the 3 man front allows a lot more space to let the guys make moves 1:1.

But then, I don't know how that works for prep to rotate from 3 to 4? Maybe you have a dedicated nose guard and a dedicated pair of tackles so they only have to work on 1 set?

Putting Mike Rose back in the middle where he belongs would help harden up the middle.

I think having Brock move outside of the pocket more would really help. There was one play action set that looked great and I posted about a half dozen times the edges were open all day yesterday.

I do get it though, the points and stats look nice.

You can be critical of some of the defensive breakdowns that occurred in our secondary, but I just shake my head when you criticize the scheme. Teams all over the country, including Clemson, have been trying to emulate it.

I'm sorry. I just can't take your football knowledge seriously after this post.
