No, that's not my expectation. My expectation is 1 or 2 losses a conference season at home. I think that is fairly reasonable. Protecting the home court is what good teams do. Over the long term, ISU fans regard ISU as more of a "basketball school" than a "football school", but we can't be much of a "basketball school" if we lose 3 or more games a conference season at home.
Since the 2013-2014 season, the Duke Blue Devils have averaged at least 1 loss at home in the conference season. So your expectation is what Duke does lol. Totally reasonable.

Somehow you are forgetting getting blown out by TCU last year, you also conveniently left out the Milwaukee game and getting embarrassed by Tennessee and Iowa.

he was talking last year. Milwaukee and Tennessee were 2 years ago. You need to check your bias.

Yeah I don't think we played very good transition defense in the beginning of the game, which allowed some of Iowa's open threes, but Iowa made them. They could've just as easily missed those shots but they didn't.

If you break down our losses, we have lost to some pretty decent teams. We do not have a bad loss. Obviously we should've lost by less to Iowa, but they're ranked #25 and have only lost to good teams as well. I think this team has some issues, but I honestly think we're going to overcome some poor shooting nights and find some wins. I also think we're going to shoot well a couple of nights and win a few games in that fashion. I do believe we can make the NCAA tournament this year, but it honestly seems like there are some people that would rather us miss the tournament this year so Prohm's seat heats up.

I knew we had no chance to win the Iowa game after watching the first few minutes of the game. They came to play and we didn't. They outhustled us all over the floor.

And offensively, Iowa was running stuff, and their players were moving without the ball, screening for one another, and making good cuts. ISU's players on the other hand, were just standing there and watching TH just dribble. Then we'd pass the ball around the perimeter, with nobody still moving at all, and just chuck up a horrible 3 with the play clock running down.

Yes, early in the 2nd half we tied it up at one point, but I never really felt we had a chance to win though. Iowa just came ready to play and we flat out looked like we didn't give a s**t.

I forgot about the TCU game last year. Definitely should've won that game, but I don't want to fire Prohm because we lost it either.

We actually didn't tie it up. The closest it got was when Solo made an and-1 to cut it to 7. He missed the FT and Iowa came down and had 2 threes in a row, along with an and-1 to bring the lead back to 16.

Had we had won that game against Ohio State, we would've had a very similar season to Monte, Naz, and Matt's senior season.. So it looks like you're using this one game to determine the success of the entire season.

A game that was lost by 3 with a terrible call that would have led to a run out dunk and at least another ******** call all in the last minute or so in a tight game. It’s not like they lost to SW Who Gives a **** University.

Exactly. We lost to a program that had a very similar record to ours had we not won the Big 12 Tournament.. If we wouldn't have won the Big 12 Tournament, we probably would've gotten an 8/9 seed and that's even more of a toss up. It's whatever. We could've won the regular season Big 12 Title, lost in the second round or Sweet 16, and the Prohm haters would still be out for blood.

Stay out of this, he listed home games from the last 4 years not just last year.
Yeah I wasn't just listing last year's games, however I wanted to put less weight into the 2017-2018 season because the fact of the matter is we just weren't good. I'm disappointed in the entirety of the season, so I'm not going to single out games we played really bad because frankly, we were really bad.

Like I said before, I think that year will be the outlier as far as horrible years go. If not, and the 2017-2018 is a common theme, I doubt Prohm stays very long. I hope Prohm does well because then Iowa State does well.

If you could give me last years season, with the possibility of a different outcome in the NCAA tournament, I'd take it every day of the week.

Yet you are harping on last season being a dissapointment because ISU lost to an 11 seed in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Keep moving those goalposts dude.

Harpies are the worst, man. ;)

Have you guys seen the schedule? This thread will be completely out of control a month from now.

Barttorvick has us going 2-5 in January.

Meaning you will be posting your rants 20 times a day and not just 10 times a day during what's essentially a bye week? o_O

Dude, we get it, it's the Fall of Prohmian Empire! Seriously, do you have anything to say you haven't already said like 100 times? At this point you're just all volume and noise.

The Big 12 schedule is front-heavy -- Yes.

Even going something like 3-4 will have the natives restless here.

We will see.

I hope, even if that comes to pass, that the team can hold it together from a mental standpoint and make a charge in February.

The schedule is lighter later on.

A few more Iowa type losses inside Hilton Coliseum this season and it will be time to Light Up the Torches....LOL...as they say ...when you start losing big at home the fanbase will go ballistic.....

Yeah, I get it, but Im not going to admit something that just isnt true. I feel the program has taken a major step backwards, had he just maintained what Hoiberg built I wouldnt have an issue with him. If he had taken the foundation of what Hoiberg built and turned it into something even better then obviously I would be thrilled with him. Thats not whats taken place over the last 4 years though.
Maintaining what Hoiberg built...Now that can either be a walk in the park or you get mugged in the park....

I would just settle for not losing to low major opponents by 20, being held to a record low point total in Hilton Coliseum history, and losing to unranked teams by double digits.
Two of those things happened in a rebuilding year though.. I'm also assuming you're talking about Iowa on the third occasion and although we should not have lost that bad, Iowa is now ranked and is a good team.

TCU putting on a clinic was last season.

Okay so TCU, who was not a great team and not a bad one either. We played terrible and they have good enough players to beat you if you don't come out ready to play. They're very well coached and they also beat Baylor, Texas twice, and took KU to OT.

Last year we were an inconsistently good team. That's a fact. We had the capability of beating anyone with also having the capability to drop some games we shouldn't. We saw both things happen throughout the year.
