In reference to what you said about Shayok, a lot of people, including myself, had actually seen Shayok play before he transferred to ISU. A lot of us, knew what he was capable of and a lot of us even said before last season that Shayok would be our top scorer or second scorer behind Wigginton. Virginia runs a defensive scheme and their offense revolves around running the shot clock down before shooting which is why he only averaged 8 points per game. Bennett is a great coach, but his teams are atrocious to watch most of the time because of his low scoring/defensive schemes. It wins games, but is not fun to watch and his players don’t fill the stat sheet because of this. Shayok was clearly the best offensive player they had his junior year, especially if you watched them in the NCAA tournament that year. People who watch teams other than ISU knew Shayok was, and quite frankly, expected him to score like he did. His clutch factor however was a huge surprise and without Shayok last season, that team doesn’t play in the NCAA and for sure doesn’t win the Big 12 tournament. He, on my opinion, is 1a or 1b as far as transfers go that have come to ISU along with DeAndre Kane.
