I've listened to almost every audiobook in the Witcher series this year. I'm finishing up Lady of the Lake this week. Honestly the books are really good too, and the audiobooks are fantastic.

Where are you hearing that? I haven't seen anything other than 2022.

Funny, now that you mention it I can't find my source. All I can find now is that HotD is slated for a 2022 release date.

I wouldn't have posted my original Jan release date info just to be clever, I saw it somewhere. Maybe they moved the release date? Maybe it will still release in Jan?

Now that I think of it, if it was a January release HBO would be promoting this thing with posters and trailers night and day...so I'm not too confident.

That was my thought on it. I am eagerly awaiting both season 2 of The Witcher as well as the new HotD but hadn't heard any solid release date. With January a few weeks a way I was feeling pretty shocked I hadn't heard more.

Ready for Season 2 now as I finished rewatching Season 1. Liked it a lot more the 2nd time. Superman's Geralt has grown on me. Looking back at my posts from 2019 it looks like I didn't immediately warm to this. Maybe TOO close to GoT and unrealistic expectations.

Interesting to rewatch while also watching Wheel of Time, which is pretty good but think Witcher is maybe quite a bit better so far.

Yeah, I can't put my finger on Wheel. I'm watching it. I'm liking it. But both Witcher season 2 and the newest episode of Wheel drop tomorrow and I'm watching the entire season of Witcher before I pick up Wheel again. It's like just fine.

I like season 1 much more now that I read the books. The time jumping threw me for a loop and I thought it was poorly conceived and poorly executed. I know people liked it, but I didn't.

All eight episodes are dropping at once today. Not everyone will binge them over the weekend so lets not go all spoiler crazy. If you absolutely have to get spoiler specific use the spoiler tag function to hide it unless someone clicks on it.

Resisting the urge to binge. Through two episodes and trying to intersperse with The Expanse and Wheel of Time to make for some extended good viewing at the end of the year. So far so good.

Freya Allan, playing Ciri, took me an episode to get used to her looking 20-something and not young teen-looking at end of Season 1. Peeps grow up fast and the filming delay didn't help that. Bit like watching the kids grow up in GoT.

I had to double check to see if they replaced the actress. I legit didn't recognize her.

We binged the season this weekend and now I'm regretting it. I like looking forward to a new episode every week like Wheel.

You can tell the director deviated from the books. Nothing wrong with that, but the quality of the show suffered. Stupid choices.

I actually kind of liked the changes.

The main issue I have is with Vesimir willing to make Ciri a Witcher. Based on the books females cannot become witchers. Even if you ignore that, Vesimir knows Ciri can die during the process. He's desperate to be able to make more witcher's again, but at the same time willing to risk killing the one source that can make this happen. Poor writing.

You can tell when the deviate from the books. The writing becomes bad.

Example 2: when travelling to Kahr Morhen Geralt tells Ciri due to past events they like to keep a low profile. They don't want the general populus to know the bases location. Then we see Eskel bring a bunch of hookers to the base and everyone is okay with it? Total contradictory. Hookers at Kahr Morhen wasn't a thing in the books. Makes no sense why this was added.

Example 3: the show states a leshey is killed only by fire through the heart. When Geralt meets the leshey and the leshey is dismembered by the insect creature the leshey dies? Eh what happened to needing fire through the heart?

Did anyone else feel like the quality of Season 2 dropped off vs. season 1? I'm about 6 episodes in but I'm just not enjoying it very much. I can't quite put my finger on it but it feels like there is just too much going on and/or we were expected to remember too many minor details from Season 1 that I haven't seen in 2 years. I've never read the books so maybe missing that context is hurting me too. Season 2 feels like it's trying to play up a bunch of intrigue, but doesn't seem to give out enough information to understand what the intrigue is or why we should care. At least that's my feeling.

Not enough Yennifer orgy scenes in season 2?

To me the biggest difference is the timeline on season 1 kept having me go back and rewatch something because I thought it happened at a different time.
